Stone John Clyde Stone of Washington Terrace and Huntsville celebrated his 80th birthday on December 3 with friends at McDonald’s and later at family dinner. John was born December 3, 1931 in Ogden to Clyde Ray and Lois Michelson Stone. At John Stone age 2, he was moved to Huntsville to live with his grandparents Jesse and John H. Michelson. He graduated from Weber High School. He married Esther Ruth Bennett on December 22, 1956 in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Obituaries He enjoyed being a member of the Junior Chamber of Commerce (Jaycees), serving as local president and as state chairman for two years, and president of the Wasatch Front Jaycees, where he made many lifelong friends. He was a member of the Washington Terrace Planning Commission for 15 years. He was employed at Hill Air Force Base for more than 36 years, starting as a laborer in the scrap lumber area and advancing to an engineering technician in the missile division, supporting the refurbishment of the Minuteman Missile System. His children and spouses are Terry Alan Stone, Powers, Oregon; Susan and Brent Christensen, Ogden; Dawn and Larry Ropelato, Hooper; and Bennett John Stone, Joiner, Arkansas. He has 13 grandchildren and nine greatgrandchildren. Lucille Weaver Deem Lucille Weaver Deem, formerly of Huntsville, Utah, died peacefully at the age of 99 with her 5 daughters around her, on November 20, 2011, at Beehive Homes in Pleasant Grove, Utah. Lucille Deem She was born March 11, 1912 to James Albert and Dollie Cook Weaver in Perry, Utah. She was the first of three children, Lucille, Duane, and Della. She graduated from Box Elder High School. Lucille married Parley Golden Deem on December 6, 1930, and they were later sealed in the Logan Temple. They shared 49 years of marriage before he died in 1980. They were the parents of five girls: Norma Christensen (Boyd) of New Castle, Utah; Shirley Engstrom (Jerald) of Huntsville, Utah; Elenore Christensen Barbara enjoyed music, art, and walking. She is survived by her daughters, Cynthia, (Scott) of Salt Lake City, Utah; Marilyn Steele Rachel and Jennifer; one brother, John R. (Robert) of Lindon, Utah; and ParCeil Valora (Margie) Fraser of Ogden; and a sister, Cathy (Peter) of Teton, Idaho. Parley and Lucille had 29 grandchildren; 78 great-grandchildren; and L. (Ray) Miller of Eden. She was preceded in death by her parents, Beth Jensen her sister Carlyn A. Hansen, and brother-in-law Charles J. Hansen. Williams Barbara Jean Williams, 73, passed away November 29, 2011. She was born January 15, 1938 in Rockford, Illinois to Milton R. and Esther Marie Bicknese Fraser. She attended Central Jr. High and graduated from Ogden High School. She married Ralph Williams in Ogden; they later divorced. He was born February 12, 1926 to Alfred “Goog” Cross and Thelma E. Thon Cross in Ogden, Utah. Ken met his Ken Cross only love, Beverly June Potter, while attending Gonzaga University. They were married July 17, 1946 in Spokane, Washington, and they have been married 65 years. Ken proudly served in the Navy in both WWII from 1944-1946, and the Korean War from 1950 to 1951. He and Bev were faithful supporters of the Crystal Cathedral and they attended Elim Lutheran Church. Ken began his career at age 12, working in the Canvas Department at the family business, C.W. Cross Company. He and Bev purchased the business following his father’s death in 1962. They changed the name to Cross Western Wear, which he operated for many 9 great-great grandchildren. She gave service all her life to the gospel of Jesus Christ and many friends and neighbors who lived around her. She was especially noted for her organizational and secretarial skills. As we think about our Mother’s life, we are filled with the knowledge that her liveliness and indomitable spirit will be appreciated as she reunites with Daddy and all her loved ones. They will recognize her and welcome her home. Her frail little body will once again be vigorous and alert. She lived with Daddy in their early married life in several places in Utah. They moved to California in 1952, where they worked and loved the warm California sunshine. When they retired in 1972, they moved to Huntsville, Utah in the summer months and then spent the winters in Mesa, Arizona. After Daddy died, she continued spending the winter months in Arizona. She lived in Huntsville until she was no longer able to live by herself. Funeral services were held Saturday, November 26, 2011 in the Huntsville 1st/2nd Ward Chapel, 277 S. 7400 E. Interment, Willard City Cemetery. Services under the direction of Myers Mortuary of Ogden. quently volunteered in the many places she lived, including as a “Pink Lady” in hospitals. While her husband was in Vietnam, she lived in Ogden where she worked for the American Red Cross, first as a volunteer, and then later as the coordinator of Service to Military Families. After retirement from the Air Force in 1971, the Gibsons lived in Roy and Ogden before moving to San Antonio in 1991. Wherever she lived in the world, Mrs. Gibson was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, often serving in small branches of the Church where she and her husband provided leadership and inspiration to others. Col. Gibson passed away September 2, 2010. Mrs. Gibson is survived by three children: Patricia Zanghi of Athens, PA; Daryl Gibson of Austin, TX; and John Gibson of San Antonio, TX; ten grandchildren; four greatgrandchildren; and two sisters, Joan Pace of Wanship and Kathryn Ensign of Huntsville. Ken also served as National Director for the Miss Rodeo America Pageant and served for two years as president of Miss Rodeo America. Ken and Bev were Grand Marshalls of the Ogden Pioneer Days in 1985. Ken is survived by his wife, Beverly; two sons, Anthony Kent “Tony” (Susan) Cross of Pleasant View and Craig Russell (Pam) Cross of Huntsville; and four grandchildren, Whit Cross, Kallee (Sonny) Munns, Kylar Cross, and Kenyon Cross. Memorial services were held at Elim Lutheran Church, 575 - 23rd St., Ogden on Wednesday, November 30, 2011.
