Show The Ogden Valley news Page Volume XVIII Issue IX October 15, 2010 Announcements Young Womanhood Award Krishelle Jones, 18, daughter of Robert and Cristy Jones of Liberty, has received her Young Womanhood Recognition Award. She is a member of the Liberty 1st Ward, and a graduate of Weber High School. The Young Womanhood Recognition Award is given to young women who, through the LDS Young Women’s program, complete various projects for personal growth, and church and community service. Birthdays Obituaries Lisa Ann Bullard Sparto Lisa Ann Bullard Sparto, 48, died from injuries sustained from horseback riding accident on September 29, 2010. She was born August 27, 1962 in Palm Springs, California to Cecil and Lisa Sparto Cleora Mead Bullard. She married Joseph Sparto, December 20, 1986 in Palm Springs; their marriage was sealed in the San Diego LDS Temple. Lisa was personable, happy, and cheerful; she always brightened up any room. She had a friendly brightness and kindness in her eyes, which showed her love and concern for others. She was very sensitive and always put others Wayne C. Kenley “PaPa Wayne” Brittan and Jacob Pack Florence and Carl Singleton Jacklin-Pack Mumford - Singleton Brittan Jacklin and Jacob Cord Pack were united in marriage on September 24 in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Salt Lake Temple. A reception was held in their honor at the Ivy Lane Reception Center in Ogden. The bride is the daughter of Wade and Bonnie Jacklin of West Haven. Parents of the bridegroom are Cord and Lisa Pack of Eden. She is a graduate of Fremont High School and attended Utah State University. She is now working on a doctorate degree from the University of Southern Nevada’s School of Pharmacy in Salt Lake City. He is a graduate of Weber High School and is a student in Weber State University’s premed program. He served in the Arizona Phoenix LDS Mission. The new couple will live in Ogden after a short honeymoon. Florence Mumford of Huntsville and Carl Singleton of Kaysville were married on August 21, 2010 in Huntsville, Utah. A lovely garden wedding was held at the home of Rex and Debbie Mumford. Son Jim Mumford gave the bride away. She was beautiful in a light green silk dress. The groom was handsome in a dark suit. Bishop Wesley McKinney performed the wedding ceremony. Grandson, Braden Wilding was the ring bearer and wedding rings were exchanged. All of Florence and Carl’s children, many grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, sisters, and a brother were at the event to share in the couple’s happiness. After a delicious lunch, a wedding cake was cut and enjoyed. Confetti was showered on the happy couple as they left on their honeymoon (after the “Just Married” writing was cleaned off the car)! Wayne was born March 2, 1939 in Ogden to Wayne C. Kenley Gordan C. and Ruby East Kenley. He was raised and educated in Ogden. He worked as a carpenter and then went on to be a glazier and worked for W.P. Fuller, Bennett’s Glass, and Moyes Glass. He built their first home in Ogden then moved to Huntsville where he built their second home. With his wife Marsha they formed the Bended Knee Miniature Horse farm. They raised little miniature horses for over 20 years. Wayne was a craftsman with wood. He could build, repair, and restore anything you brought to him. He was a precise perfectionist in everything he did. He built a grandfather clock for each daughter, which they will cherish forever. On August 28, 1958 Wayne married the love of his life, Marsha Manning. To this Orin Julian Brunker Orin Julian Brunker, age 32, died October 4, 2010 of injuries sustained in an automobile accident near Rock Springs, WY. He was born November 2, 1977 in Ogden to Wesley R. Brunker and Orin Brunker Nanci Olsen. Orin attended Valley Elementary, Canyon View High School and graduated from Weber High School. He was always grateful to the staff that helped him with his education. Orin was always doing things for other people. He was thoughtful and kind. He was a wonderful uncle and loved children. Orin enjoyed attending the Mountain Men Rendezvous’ and he was affectionately known as “Boone” by his Mountain Men friends. He was a Sgt. At Arms with A.B.A.T.E. motorcycle group. He was a member of the American Legion Post #129. He enjoyed his job as a truck driver for Model Linen and worked for American Land and Leisure and Red Rock Ranch for many years. needs and well being ahead of her own. Lisa could turn any negative thing into a positive; she had a loving, teasing, happy personality. Lisa was a member of the LDS Church and a member of the North Fork Ward; and she was very proud of her Mormon Heritage. Lisa is survived by her husband, Joe; son, Joseph (Michelle) Sparto of Ohio; daughters Terri Rae Sparto of San Diego and Tiffany Ann Sparto of Liberty; mother Cleora Bullard of Liberty; sister Louri (Scott) Carlson and brother Cecil (Keri) Bullard, both of Ogden. She was preceded in death by her father Cecil Bullard. Funeral services were held Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at the North Fork Ward Chapel, 4279 N. 3300 E. Wayne is survived by his loving wife, Marsha, of 52 years; daughters Laura Fowles, Roy and Karen Kenley, Brigham City; one sister, Shirley Lemmons and one brother, Glen Kenley. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Brian Favero, Jason Fowles, Megan (Will) Cline, and Mitch Fowles; and two great-grandchildren, Izzy and Corbin. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral mass was held on Saturday, October 2, 2010 at St. Florence Catholic Church, 6461 E. Highway 39, Huntsville, Utah with Father Charles Cummins officiating. Blessing of the grave site followed at Leavitt’s Aultorest Memorial Park, 836 36th Street, Ogden. Rosary was on October 1 at Leavitt’s Mortuary. Following the Rosary, a gathering of family and friends was held at the mortuary. In lieu of flowers, Wayne would want you to just hold your loved ones close and be happy and laugh. He had a contagious laugh and made everyone around him smile. So always remember him when you hear someone laugh, Always laugh! He was preceded in death by his grandfather Julian Brunker. Graveside services were held on Saturday, October 9, 2010 at the Huntsville Cemetery, Huntsville Utah.
