I was 11 years old when a friend of my mothers showed us all one of her paintings and I knew from that moment I wanted to paint! She bought me my first oil paint set for my next birthday, and I’ve been painting ever since—a total of 40 years. “I’ve always loved painting in oils. It is my medium of choice, although I’ve painted with acrylics, watercolors, and pastel. I consider myself a self taught artist, but took art courses in high school and college. In college along with my basic studies, I took a year of advanced oil painting and advanced drawing as well as Photography (my minor). I have recently started painting plein aire and enjoy it. Daily I learn something new in painting. I try to paint every day.” Regular gallery hours are weekdays 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Saturdays 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. For information, please contact the art center staff at 801-392-6935 or visit the art center’s website at <www.ogden4arts.org> Please send your announcements & photos to: Ogden Valley news P O BOX 130 eden UT 84310 Announcements are placed free of charge.
