The bride is the daughter of Richard and Kaye Lee of Pleasant View. Attending the bride were Heather King, Kathryn Buxton, Kristen Clark, Alex Bruestle, and Amber Hodges. The bride is a graduate of Weber High School and Weber State University. The groom is the son of Bob and Lenora Bachman of Eden, and John and Shirl Unck of South Ogden. Mason Unck served as best man, and Eric Smith was the groomsman. The groom is a graduate of Bonneville High School and attends WSU. He served an LDS mission to Boston. The couple will reside in Ogden after returning from a honeymoon in San Diego. Tiffany Ann Norman and Alan David Vause were united in marriage on September 17 in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints Ogden Temple. A reception was held in their honor at the Norman residence. The bride is the daughter of Garry and Ann Norman of North Ogden. Parents of the bridegroom are Brad and Sharon Vause of Eden. They are 2006 graduates of Weber High School and currently are enrolled at Weber State University. She is in the elementary education program. He served in the Dominican Republic LDS Mission. Alex Brown Elder Alex Brown, son of Forrest and SuZan Brown of Huntsville, recently returned from serving in the Mexico City South Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He will speak in the Huntsville Stake Center building on November 15 at 11:00 a.m. Acorn’s Antique Show & Sale Saturday November 7 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. Sunday November 8 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Rulon C Shaw, 83, of Thatcher, Idaho, died suddenly on Thursday, October 8, 2009. He was born March 5, 1926 in Liberty, Utah, the eleventh child of Virtue Pearl Chard and James Rulon Shaw Edmund Shaw. He graduated from Weber High School in 1944 and married Evelyn Jean Blodgett in 1946 in Liberty. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. They lived in Liberty, Ogden, Pleasant View, and Farr West, Utah and Thatcher. After 49 years together, Jean died in 1995. He married Helen Southwick Houk in 1996. Helen died shortly after their marriage. He later married Edythe Lakey Glenn in 1997. In his youth, he played baseball and basketball, rode saddle bronc and bareback rodeo events, was on the high school debate team, participated in local dramatic plays, and raised dairy cows and beef cattle. He served as President of the Lomond View School Parent Teacher Association. He had been employed by Golden Spike Auction, Cragun and Johns Construction, and retired from the Weber County Fire Department where he had been Chief. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He spent his Moana Berchtold Jensen Moana Berchtold Jensen died October 14, 2009 in her home. She was born December 31, 1942 in Brigham City to Joseph Ersol Bertchold and Lucille Moana Jensen Grover. She was raised in Penrose and Eden, Utah and lived in Star Valley, Wyoming before her family settled in Brigham City. She attended grade school in Star Valley and finished her schooling at Central Grade School, Box Elder Junior High, and Box Elder High School. She married her high school sweetheart Alan Levar Jensen on October 13, 1960 in Brigham City. They were later sealed in the Logan Temple. She was very active in her community serving on the Recreation Committee, Heritage Theater Board of Directors, and for 32 years was race director for the Peach Days Road Race. She served in many church callings such as Chorister, Ward Music Director, and Primary advisor with her husband, but her favorite church calling was Young Women’s advisor. She was a great influence for these girls and they loved her dearly and became life-long friends. Moana was blessed with a beautiful singing voice. She was a member of the Box Elder Symphonic Choir, Musicality, and a former member of Hills of Home. She loved to be involved in musicals at Heritage Theater, not only performing but entire life as a farmer and rancher in Utah and Idaho, and was devoted to raising cattle. He was preceded in death by his wife Jean; his parents; two infant siblings; brothers Lawrence and Woodrow; sisters Alburdice, Vera, Tura, Mildred, Mary Jane, and Amelia; and grandchildren Carl, Valerie, and Todd. He is survived by his wife Edythe; children: Elaine (John) Marshall, Statesboro, Georgia; Janene (Leonard) Dabb, Farr West; LaDawn (Robert) Cox, Pleasant View; and Ryan (Jan) Shaw; Farr West; grandchildren: Brian (Jeannie), Chad (Amy), and Johanna (Alex); James (Tiffany), Alyson (Brett), Anna (Tony), Christopher (Melissa), Maegan (John), and Nicholas; and Antony, Shawn (Jhordan), Glade, Jordan, and Tanner; Jeanna (Zack), Lauren, Natalie (serving in the Atlanta North mission), Nicole, and Brette; and 11 great-grandchildren. A viewing was held at the Thatcher Idaho Ward, 2060 Niter Bench Road, Grace Idaho on Sunday, October 11, 2009. Funeral services were held Monday, October 12, 2009 at the Farr West 6th Ward, 3300 N. 2775 W., Farr West, Utah. A viewing was also held at the Farr West 6th Ward on Monday. Interment at the Liberty Cemetery. Funeral Services under the direction of Myers Mortuaries, Ogden, Utah. Moana lived an active lifestyle playing tennis, skiing with her husband and family, and running—even completing the Golden Spike Marathon. She also enjoyed hiking and mountain climbing with her family. One of their favorite places was the Tetons in Wyoming, where she climbed the middle Teton. She enjoyed going to lunch with her high school friends and a special group of cousins, playing pinochle with friends, and working in her yard. She was always a regular at her grandchildren’s actives, and loved going to the movies with friends. She is survived by her husband, Alan; her sons Troy (Karyn) Jensen, Benjamin (Angela) Jensen, and Joshua (Jessie) Jensen—all of Brigham City. One daughter, Gina (Joseph) Poirier of Temecula, CA; twenty grandchildren; and four greatgrandchildren. Also, two brothers, L. Don (Carol) Berchtold, Brigham City and Joseph (Sue) Berchtold of Ogden. She is preceded in death by two sons, Bradley Alan Jensen and Van Reuben Jensen; One grandson, Zane Earsol Jensen; a brother, Robert (Bob) Berchtold; and her parents. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Alison, Callie, Jody, and Joanna of Intergrity Heath Care. They were our Angels. They also wish to thank Davis Cancer Clinic, Dr Steve Scharman, the Thirteenth Ward Relief Society, and many friends. Services were held Monday, October 19, 2009 at the Thirteenth Ward Chapel, 25 N. 300 E., Brigham City. Interment in the Mantua Cemetery.
