Show Volume XVII Issue XI The Ogden Valley news Page September 1, 2009 Announcements Obituaries Blaine Tuck Blaine Edward Tuck, 58, Ogden, passed away in Ogden Monday, August 3, 2009 from natural causes. Born March 27, 1951 to Gordon & Alice Tuck of Ogden, Utah he was the seventh of twelve children. He married Elizabeth Ruth Brown in the Salt Lake Temple May, 14 1970. He graduated from Ogden High School and LDS Seminary in 1969. He worked for Harmon’s Kentucky Fried Chicken from 1967 to 1986, and for Flying J from 1986 to 1989. He also had family-run restaurants in Kanab, Roosevelt, and Ogden, Utah. He was currently a member of the Ogden, Lorin Farr 4th Ward. He is survived by Elizabeth Tuck, Garth (Shari), Jarod (Tiffany), Nathan (Kellee), Aimee Frampton, Curtis, Amanda Stark (Cole), Rosella Ball (Lynn), Marilyn Bybee (Jack), Dale (Sandy), Beverly Clayton (Winston), Sheryl Russell (Don), Deanna Franzen (Dennis), Roger (Karen), Dennis (Norma) and anyone else reading this (that includes you). He is preceded in death by parents Gordon and Alice Tuck, and brothers Gordon (Jr.), Larry, and Alan. His spontaneity, energy, and enthusiasm for life are legendary. He loved his family. He loved to work. He loved to be on the move. Living with Blaine was never dull, always crazy, and sometimes scary. It was not unusual for his family to awake in the morning to find the house had been completely rearranged while they slept. We still can’t figure out how he managed to move the piano by himself. Spending most of his working days in the restaurant business, he knew his way around the kitchen. His internal food timer was amazing to say the least. He could have orders on the grill, buns in the oven, and be talking to a supplier on the phone all without skipping a beat. Blaine’s creativity and ambition were often manifest through countless remodeling projects. No wall was sacred. We all learned that just about anything can be built from the lumber in the scrap pile, a box of three inch grabber screws, and a little (I mean a lot...) of duct tape. We once saw him fashion a front porch out of some old cupboard doors, a couple of bed frames, and, well, we don’t know what the other stuff was. He was the king of the American road trip although planning was not his strongest attribute. When he would get “the itch” to hit the road there was no time to waste; “grab what you can we are going to see the ocean by morning.” He loved to drive through the night listening to old-time radio dramas only found on the AM dial. Through the years, Blaine and Liz took several vacations to Hawaii none of which included their children . . . and the kids are still mad. Even in his poorest health (and no matter what we or the doctors told him), he wanted to be in the kitchen baking bread, in the yard watering flowers, or taking the grandkids for a ride on his “Jazzy.” We love you Dad. Funeral services were held Monday, August 10, 2009 at the Lorin Farr 4th Ward building 770 15th Street, Ogden. In lieu of flowers, donations to the “Blaine Tuck Memorial Account” can be made at any America First Credit Union or sent to: AFCU PO BOX 9199 OGDEN UT 84409-0199 Interment, Ogden City Cemetery.
