Page 12 The Ogden Valley news Volume XIV Issue XIV April 15, 2007 High Altitude Fitness Summer Camp Ogden Valley Montessori Offers Schedule—What are your kids doing this summer? Summer Camps High Altitude Fitness (HAF) is holding Summer Camps for children and young adults ages 4 through 17. Classes will include Tumbling, Tennis, Dance, Outdoor Adventure, Cheerleading, Football, Yoga, Karate, and Sports Conditioning camp. We also have Art Appreciation and Nature Photography classes that will run throughout the summer. HAF All-Day Campers! Discovery Camp will run all summer. Children may enroll in this camp on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis. The camp begins at 8:00 a.m. with a light breakfast, and runs until 5:00 p.m. daily. Children bring a sack lunch. Snacks are provided. Once a week will be field trip day. The destination and activity for the field trip day will vary from week to week, and will include activities such as a Water Day (canoeing, swimming, etc.), Horseback Riding, Gateway Children’s Museum and Fountain, Dinosaur Museum and Thanksgiving Point, Rock Climbing, and a variety of other offerings. The activities for this camp change daily. Activities include, but are not limited to, art projects, ball sports games, tutoring time (in reading and math), bike riding, hiking, tumbling, nature photography, tumbling, dance or ball sports, tennis, science, and art projects. The art includes classes in watercolors, acrylics, sculpting with clay, woodwork, etc. Children who need math and/or reading help can schedule blocks of one-on-one tutoring from a teacher during the day. Campers will have the ability to pick and choose some of the activities they participate in while some activities will be participated in by the entire group. Start Date: June 4 End Date: The week before school starts in August Registration Deadline: May 10 Cost: $700/month, $200/wk, $50/day Additional Fees: Field Trip Fees as necessary to cover costs Ages: 5-12 Each week High Altitude Fitness will offer a specialty camp. Rock Climbing Students will be certified in belaying techniques and rock safety, and will enjoy being introduced, within a safe environment, to the wonders and fun of rock climbing in the Utah outdoors. Session I: June 5, 6, 7. Session II: July 10, 11, 12 Time for both sessions: 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Registration Deadline: May 10 Cost: $150 Additional Fees: Purchase or rental of rock climbing shoes required Ages: 5-16 Students grouped according to age. Dance Camp Students will improve their dance skills during this camp. Session I: June 12, 13, 14 Session II: July 17, 18, 19 Time: 9:00 a.m. to noon Registration Deadline: May 10 Cost: $75 Ages: 5-16 Skill Level: Beginner and Intermediate. Students grouped according to age & skill level. The Ogden Valley Montessori School has announced they will offer a variety of fun and exciting summer camps for children this coming season. One series of camps will be offered to children ages 3 to 6; and, another, to children ages 6 to 10. Three to six year olds are invited to come join in the fun and learning at Summer Camp from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon on Tuesdays through Thursdays. The cost per student is $50 per week.
