All material, to be considered, must be submitted with On Labor Day, a horse accident made a big change in my life. While taking a beautiful ride by the lake, two large tree limbs fell n my back, and I knew my back was broken. But already I am walking again, and my head is clear enough to thank the many wonderful people who responded so generously to help me. My friend Terrie Hardman acted so calmly to secure and maintain my safety while I was still on the horse as she called 911 for help. The Farr family assisted and helped to take down their fence. Then, the emergency response team from our Valley arrived in a few minutes with the Weber County Sheriff's Department and the paramedics. Their skills, kindness, and speed prevented any further severe damage to my bac I want all of these people to know how grateful | am to them, and | want others to w how blessed we are in our Valley to have such a caring and trained team. Most of all, | would like to thank my mom, Heidi Posnien, who didn’t leave my side through three weeks in the hospital and during my recovery at home. Thanks again to everyone. Sixth grade students at Valle Elementary School sponsored their annual blood drive on October 25—originally the Katie Spainhower Blood Drive. Donations were taken in the Valley Elementary media center making it possible for any child Ogden Valley to receive free blood donations should the need occur. Sixth graders were entertained with poems, magic tricks, dance routines, and jokes while scores of people ave A special thanks to all who came to donate, to all of the sixth grade as they decorated the area, to the sixth graders who volunteered to stay after school and help out, and to Karen Wright who prepares the media center to accommodate the blood unit chairs and work tables. Ogden Valley residents will vote to decide on the most qualified candidate for Weber County Sheriff. Experience and integrity have nev e important in a governing law enforcement position than it ‘oday. Weber County Sheriff Brad Slater has worked his way up through the ranks of the Weber County Sheriff's Office, supervising all divisions of the department. Brad knows and understands the law enforcement needs of the citizens of Ogden Valley. Brad has successfully managed the Sheriff’s Office for over a decade making the Weber County Sherriff’s Office the only accredited Sheriffs Office in the State of Utah. Our sheriff knows and understands the values of the growing population of the Valley. He meets with his precinct supervisors on a regular basis discussing methods of reducing crime and improving the quality of police service in our unique communit I have worked with Sheriff Slater for most of my career, and strongly support and recommend Brad for re-election for the position of Weber County Sheriff.
