They have been holding public hearings on this matter and attendance has been very low. Mayor Mckay i is concerned that the plan being developed will change the Valley from semi-rural to recreational based. The hearings have been posted in the Ogden Valley News and the Standard Examiner. If you live in Ogden Valley and are in elementary, pana high, or high school, this contest is for you! We are looking for artwork that depicts an element regarding non-motorized pathways. Possible themes include hikers, bikers, horseback riders, cross-country skiers, or snow shoe enthusiasts; wildlife, wild flowers, trees, or landscapes; or even equipment used on the trail such as boots, packs, bikes, horses, or saddles. Submitted artwork can be created from a variety of mediums such as oil, acrylic, watercolor, pen and ink, photography, or sculpture; you’re only limited by the realm of your own creativity! Top entries will be awarded cash prizes as judged by a panel of Ogden Valley residents and pathways users. Prizewinners and their winning entries will be highlighted in future news articles. Plus, Ogden Valley Pathways will feature prize winners and winning entries in art items sold at Pathways fundraising auctions and as part of Pathways sales products such as note cards. The community logged over 415 hours of volunteet time and worked on seven different trails throughout the Valley. This year’s goals include expanding efforts to include aggressive invasive weed eradication (pulling dyers woad) program and expanded Pathways efforts throughout the Valley. This will include expanding the AdoptA-Trail program. Under the Adopt-A-Trail program, families. businesses, and groups will adopt a trail—or portion of a trail—and provide maintenance such as trimming back branches, mowing sides when needed, and collecting trash. Some groups may even want to do some simple trail construction or add trail signs or trailhead markers. OVP will provide guidelines and training for any interested groupsor families.
