It is the practice to roll huge rocks down the mountain side which reach the wagon road with all the force given them by this steep hill and their own weight and impetuosity. A few days ago Evan Evans, a resident of Huntsville, was passing when one of these boulders came thundering down the mountain crashing into the wheel of his wagon. The warning by the workers had not been heard by him in time to prevent the accident. Happily no one was injured, only the wheel of his wagon. On Saturday, just as two wagons containing five persons came near the kiln they were warned to stop but not till they were so close that there was danger of having their heads blown off. A blast ready to explode, was fired, and rocks flew in all directions, falling in the river and upon all sides of the frightened travelers who gazed up in alarm with a view to dodging the falling fragments. e gentleman who reported the occurrence remarked that there was as much safety in passing as in stopping in their position. “The dangerous work must be stopped,” he added,” or a frightful calamity will occur in the near future.” OK OK KOK Ogden Standard, April Names provided by Fern caret added to the picture by 13, 1904 THOMAS BURNETT AT EDEN— KILLED He is 18, the victim of an accident yesterday. Ogden Standard, July 29, 1904 Suit Filed—Trustees of Eden Irrigation District Enter Suit in District Court An irrigation suit has been filed in the district court by George Halverson and J. N. Kimball as attorneys for G. (George) A. Fuller, D. L Colvin and v. B. Stallings, trustees of Eden Irrigation district against Milo Sharp, Joseph Carver and Joseph Stevenson to restrain them from interfering or using the water in the North Fork of the Ogden river. The complaint alleges that the Eden Irrigation district has had prior right and use since 1861 [of] the waters of the North Fork and has had a canal running from the said stream. It is further alleged that the defendants recently visited the said canal and river and tore out the dam, letting the water go down the main channel of the river keeping it from going into the canal and to several farms, and thereby injuring the latter. A temporary restraining order was issued and a permanent injunction is asked for. Eden 3543 .N. Foothill Lane Eden 4770 East 3900 North Eden 3273 N.
