Show THE Page 4 OGDEN VALLEY NEWS March OVBA Announces 4th Annual Map— Invites new businesses to join The Ogden Valley Business Association OBIE ALY (OVBA) is proud to announce production of the “2005 Upper Ogden Valley Map and Business Guide” for distribution by the end of March. This publication has been very popular with visitors and locals alike. The OVBA supplies the Map to local and regional lodging properties, retail businesses, and visitor centers to help customers find what they need. High demand has required printing of at least 40,000 copies this year—33 percent more than printed last year. The OVBA invites Ogden Valley and Ogden Canyon area businesses of all sizes, including sole proprietors, to join the organi- zation. Prizes were donated by Diamond Peak Mountain Sports, Rossignol, Connie’s Corner at Wolf Creek, Valley Lodging, Marker, Gage Froerer Century 21 Eden, and The Oaks Restaurant. At 8:00 p.m., a 40-person torchlight parade traversed the mountain from the top of the Viking lift, followed by a full fireworks display at 8:30 p.m. Torch carrier Heather Campbell commented, “I had so much fun, my cheeks actually hurt from smiling and laughing so much.” Many local residents came and sat at the base of the resort to watch the fireworks while others on the north side of the valley watched from their decks. Even so. she did not give up the many friendships she had developed working with so many other cast members from the “Wizard of Oz.” Until the end of her life, she participated in reunions and shows commemorating the movie classic. Mike remembers meeting many of these friends, some of which he remains in contact with today. Jeanette died in 1995 at the age of 70, leaving behind her only son.
