Peterson 47, passed away peacefully in his sleep Thursday, August 26, 2004 at his He was born on December Ogden, Utah, a son of Mack 14, 1956 in and Betty S. Peterson. Kirk married Lisa Duncan on July 2, 1982. They were later divorced. He graduated from Morgan High School in 1975 and also attended DATC and became certified in heating & air-conditioning. He worked at various jobs throughout his life. One of his earlier adventures was running the Como Springs Resort Roller Rink. He worked at Mountain Geophysical, East Canyon Resort, Browning, Karls Body Shop, Weber Basin Water, Clearfield Cleve and Edith Peterson; and Dan and Leona Sommers preceded him in death. Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 31, 2004 at the Milton Church. Interment will be in the Milton Cemetery. He enjoyed making handicraft of Indian lore and leatherwork. He was a very involved with the Alcohol Anonymous program and served as a President on the Valley Camp Board of Directors. Kirks greatest joy in life was spending time with his kids, Cassie, Kaylee, and Dalton. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Liberty Ist Ward. While living in Henefer he was involved with the Boy Scout program as a den leader. Kirk’s life was short; those who loved and knew him will always feel his loving presence. Surviving are his son Dalton of Liberty; two daughters: Cassie (Cyson) Preece, and Kaylee of Morgan. His father, Mack C. Peterson, (stepmother, June), one brother, Brad (Annette) Peterson of Morgan; four sisters: Judy (Claren) Brandt of Sunset, Donise Peterson of Morgan, Penny (Jim) Taylor of Morgan, and Heidi Taylor of Bullard, Texas. His mother, Betty Peterson; Grandparents, dren. Jack is survived by his wife, Claire; one son and two daughters; Troy (Amy) Miller, Grand Junction, Colorado; Tina (Brion) Flinders, Roy; Tricia (Rick) Ellis, Howell, Utah; six grandchildren, Jared, Rilee, Reagan, Dain, Justin, and Rees. He is also survived by two sisters, Marilyn (David) Summers, Eden ai Marjorie (David) Kolander, Portland, Oregon. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Jerry Miller. Graveside services were held on Tuesday, August 31, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at the Mountain View Cemetery in Eden, Utah. Send condolences to family at <www.myers-mortuary.com> Miller, Jr. Jack Thomas Miller, Jr., 61, passed away Friday, August 27, 2004 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born May 21, 1943 in Ogden, the son of Jack Thomas Miller, Sr. and Melba Ellen Jorgensen. He married Jean Stark, they were later divorced. On April 22, 1967 he married Claire Russell in Ogden. Jack served in the U.S. Navy. He worked for the Weber County Sheriffs department for 31 years, retiring as a Sergeant in 1998. Jacks greatest joys in life were helping other people; search and rescue; and his grandchil- Lenna Hardy Christensen, 89, passed away September 3, 2004 in Ogden of congestive heart failure. Our precious mother and grandmother was born March 9, 1915 in Blanding, Utah, the 9th of 11 children of Aaron Bradford Hardy and Mariah Anne Porter. She married Earl C. Christensen on January 1, 1937 in Ogden, Utah. They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple, August 31, 1939. Earl passed away in 1992. Lenna had lived with heart trouble since age twelve, but was blessed with a positive attitude and a vivacious spirit. She graduated from Ogden High School and attended Smithsonian Business College. She was the first girl hired at Hill Air Force Base processing the paperwork for the many workers hired there and later worked for the Forest Service and IRS. When the Ogden Temple opened, she was the first employee, serving as President Halversons secretary. She served in all the auxiliary organizations of the Church, including Young Womens President and Gospel Doctrine teacher. In her later years she served a 5-year genealogical data entry mission and at age 78 she served a Stake and Ward mission for 8 years Lenna loved to read and was a life-long student of the scriptures. She was a dedicated genealogist devoting countless hours to research and attended the temple regularly. Surviving are three daughters; Joan (Kenneth) Blanchard of Ogden, Gaye (Verl) Creager of Eden, and Dorothy (Kim) Slater of Slaterville; 20 grandchildren; 31 greatgrandchildren with 6 on the way; and | greatgreat-grandchild. Preceding her in death were her husband; an infant son, Richard Earl Christensen; her parents; ten brothers and sisters; and twin grandsons. Funeral services were held Wednesday, September 8, Huntsville Utah 2004 at Stake 11:00 a.m. Center, at 6450 James Wallace May Billie Marie Avis James Wallace May returned home to his Father in heaven on September 6, 2004. He passed away at the University of Utah Hospital of natural causes. He was greeted with open arms by his father, mother, sister, and many friends. Jim was born on April 7, 1942 to Alma Oluf and Annie Viola Miller May in San Bernardino, Californian and grew up in Reno, Nevada. His family moved to Utah during high school where he attended his senior year at East High. After graduating he served in the Army Reserves before accepting his mission call to Denmark. He retuned to Utah to attend the University of Utah where he met the love of his life, Ruth. They were married in the Salt Lake Temple for time and all eternity on March 24, 1966. During his life Jim was an active member of the LDS Church. He served in High Priest Group Leadership, Elders Quorum Presidency , and Scouts, just to name a few. He always served his Heavenly Father with humility and faith. He had an unwavering testimony of Jesus Christ and the gospel. Jim was a family man. His favorite pastimes were talking to his kids on the phone and playing with the grandkids. He loved and was grateful for every minute he spent with his family. WE LOVE YOU DAD Anyone who has known Jim over the years will say he was a humble man who would give you the shirt off his back. Jim was a hard-working man who always said he would work until the day he died. He was the owner and operator of Western Fusion Company. He was well known around the mining and construction industry for his expertise in pipe products. Jim is preceded in death by his mother Annie Viola Miller May, father Alma Oluf May, and sister Donna Hopkins. He is survived by his wife Ruth, Huntsville, Utah; children Todd May (Heather), Lake Point Utah; Troy May (Michele), Grantsville, Utah; Tiffany Dauk (Peter), Sedgwick, Maine; Tara May, Lake Tahoe, Nevada; one sister Jean Tennel, Phelan, California; and 14 beautiful grandkids Funeral services were held September 14, 2004 at the Huntsville Ist Ward Chapel, Huntsville, Utah. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served joyfully in many various callings. Billie worked at Valley Elementary as a playground supervisor and at the Teddy Bear Day Care, where she was affectionately known as “Grandma Billie.” She will always be remembered for her wit, fun personality, and her love of all people.
