What an appropriate theme . for the Summit County Fair-20- 0 1 lust thinking about the several museums set up for won- derful county we live in is one way to make your mouth curve upwards. Looking around, there arc not many counties that can boast having farm ground, wildlife, skiing, theatre opportunities, and don't forget the upcoming Olympics. The latter being sure to bring the world to our front door as Park City is the site of several venues for the , gpmes. We are blessed to live in an area Mother Nature has adorned great beauty, from our streams and valley's to the mountains and pines. We live in an area filled with historic treasures at our fingertips. We can learn about mining, the skiing industry, farming and types of employment by attending one of with our enjoyment and to further our knowledge. As residents. ( both current and former), famiy and friends, we have an opportunity to meet with one another while enjoying activities that are sure to make you smile. The Queen Pageant offers a chance to young, talented women ( of which the County has plenty) an opportunity to become a representative of the - county they live in. The Farm Bureau talent com- petition is a great way to spend a few hours while being entertained by some pretty incredible individuals. The younger set can make' you smile just by sharing theirs as they present their talent numbers. Attending the Demo Deity sewing, volleyball tournament, pet Test, livestock judging, floral arrangements, 4H exhibit, dutch The parade, the oven cook-of- f. the run, earjy bird breakfast, and don't forget the great fire- In the pages of this year's fair tab we decided to take you back to past issues and share some of the stories which have previously been in print. Some of the writings have been taken from the book "Echoes of Yesterday" which is available at the Summit County Courthouse. Personal thanks to previous writer's and editor's of The Summit County Bee who contributed greatly to the articles. Hope you enjoy them. Thanks to the many, leaders and volunteers who work so diligently to plan for a successful fair. Thanks to all those who give of their time and talent to make the fair enjoyable. "Shenandoah1' will be on hand to perform this year. The Little Buckaroo Rodeo adds excitement for the little folks as they climb aboard a sheep or calf and do their best to hang on. The PRCA rodeo events are always a thrill, especially when the bull riding competition begins. Seeing the beautiful cowgirls is a crowd pleaser as well. There is grand stand entertainment. food booths, and fine arts exhibits.
