Track Team Travels To Student Writer: Barry Williams The North Summit Trail. Team traveled to Provo to participate in the BYl! Invitational. The girls learn: Relay Medley (icnlry I)anlcl (ieaty. Whitney Sargcanl. IVck. and Jackie Reese dominated the track meet by heating the Stale Record by I full second. The girls Medley team ended up taking first place in their rjee. The boys also did an excellent job and ended up taking second oxerall. losing by 12 of a point. BYU This was one of the largest track meets for high schools in the United States. North Summit's Track Team make their mark at the BYU Invitational held last weekend with the girls team taking seventh place and the boys team placing second, missing first place by 12 point. Lady Braves Go Out With a Bang Student Writer: Sarah Scarle The Yaisity l.ady Braves were so pumped for their gjnic that it is no wonder they played so well The Braves played their last game against the (iranlsxille Cowboys on Mondjy the 1st of 2000 at North Summit and played their best game of the entire season. The first couple of innings were shaky and the Braves definitely needed to pul llieir heads together. Our laidies were down by nine points and the game looked hopeless. But out of nowhere, the I Julies began smacking the ball and getting oil base. They came back in two innings and were leading the cow-hoby four points. On Friday April 2X the Ijidy Braves traveled to Manii wlicie they weie met by the Ijuly Templers. Mjnii has llw number one 2a soltball team in the slate and tlie altitude and atmosphere were strong and confident. It was pretty intimidating for the Ijuly Braves. I lie Braves decided that the only thing they mild do was try llieir best. So that's what they did. The game was a varsity double header. Julie llewson pitched with Marcia IX-n-t as catcher in the first game for the lately Braves. They struggled on both offense and defense. The final seme was 171 for the Templers. Tin Braves only run was scored by Blaire Judd who hit a homerun into center field. Although North Summit had a tough first game they kept fighting. Julie Morrill pitched tlie second game with Heather lairensen at catcher The were able to seme a few more runs, but they weren't able to compete with the Manti team. The final score was 33 in lavor of the Mjnii Templers. The Ijuly Biases will have one more game against (irantsvillo on 1 knows when?
