The team continues to grow each year, and we wish our golf team good luck in their nest meet. On April 4, seven NSMS eighth graders participated in a mock trial. They went up against Northwest Middle School, a much larger school than North Summit. It was held at the Coalville City Council room. The four attorneys were Garrett Rees. Ben Morrill. Paul Crandall, and Travis Brammcr. Paul commented, "We went against all girls, which to our surprise, was a lough team." Our team consisted of three witnesses who were played by. Virginia Robinson. Mike Korlin, and Nash Jones. The trial was about a young and disturbed man named Cassidy Conner who put a bomb in a crowded cafeteria at North High School in Utah City. He shot Arin Taylor, a young man, and severely injured Lady Braves Play Rowland Hall Saint Marks Page B1 2000 at North Summit Prom ? two others. Now Arin Taylor's parents are suing the parents of Cassidy Conner for negligence. North Summit was defending the parents of Cassidy, Pal and Aubrey Conner. Virginia Robinson, who played Angel Rodrigue, was one of Cassidy's teachers. Nash Jones played Cassidy's father. Mike Korlin played Dr. Mikal Washington who was Cassidy's shrink. These mock trials are set up so that one side is always planned to win. The final verdict docs not really matter. The decision is based on how many points you score. You score these through how well your performance is. North Summit won the trial. We would like to thank Sheldon Smith for helping us with this trial. Also the students would like to thank Ms. Natalie Hansen for also helping. i i Members uf the North Summit Junior Claw of 2000, entered through a castle, complete with a draw bridge over a running stream of blue water.
