The Census Bureau will continue processing forms that are postmarked by April 1. The Bureau is aiming for a national mail ivsponsc rate of 70 percent, which is five percentage points higher than the I WO response rate of 65 percent. As of Wednesday, April 5. the national response rate was at 57 percent. Initial mailhack response rates arc strong, hut not as strong as we 1 1 -- t area. The Bureau has invested millions of dollars promoting Census 20W with the hope of improving the mail response rate. lor every one percent that the response rale is increased, taxpayers save an estimated. The retreat was designed to help them strengthen and improve their leadership skills. Special speaker was raula Scott, who taught the Ambassadors about such social skills and issues as: healthy lifestyles, association with peers, setting goals, and the benefit of positive attitudes. Carolyn Ovard taught the Ambassadors about the importance of presenting 4H projects. Teen Ambassador. Tiffany Banks, then spoke about the skill of public speaking. This was a very .worthwhile activity enjoyed by all. On April 3. the Ambassadors were able to tour the County Justice Center near Park City. Jail Commandcr. Tracy Sargent, gave all attending a very informative tour of the facility, lie taught the group many interesting things about our local justice system. expressive.
