The students have learned many interesting things about Ms. O'Keeffe and her artistic style and have been encouraged to use their own creativity to interpret her work. The students art work will be displayed at the North Summit Arts Festival, planned for Friday. May 19. The North Summit Aits Council is still looking fur new patrons of the Mrs. Grant's class at North Summit Elementary proudly displays their original drawings that were inspired by the works of American Artist Georgia O'Keeffe. Mrs. Lorraine Mills has been instructing the students about this master artist that is part of the Utah State Core Curriculum. Both Mrs. Grant and Mrs. Mills were thrilled with the beautiful drawings that N.S. Plays Tough field but just couiun't get the bats around. Amanda Burton scored the only run by stealing home on a passed ball. Julie Hewson made an outstanding play turning the double play. Even though the score doesn't show it. the Lady Braves played a great game. March 22. the NS Track On The Rise Student Writer: Barry Williams The North Summit Braves Track Team held a meet at North Summit on Wednesday. March 29. Nine teams in the region came to participate in the track meet. Throughout the track meet the North Summit hoys dominated everybody. March 31. the Lady Braves traveled the two and a half hour drive to Juah High school. The game was a scheduled douhlchcadcr and Ihc Ladies were looking forward to the game. T he first game had a lot of errors and (he Braves did not exactly play their best. They let the Wasps dominate and win the game by a wide margin. During the second game. Ihc Braves began to show their stuff and you could tell tlic first game was just a warmup. The Wasps had a good lead, hut the Braves would not allow another blow out. They pul their heads together and took the lead over Juab. Juah could not risk defeat and they scored a few more runs to tie the game at 14 to 14. The girls had to go in one extra inning only to he defeated by Ihc Juab Wasps. 18 to 14.
