This is The Season Student Writer: Kirk Kehfirld To bring a championship team into the new millennium, to have a season where wins losses, and to have a team that fans would enjoy watching, are challenges thl the North Summit baseball club is dealing with this year. With almost the whole Varsity hack in 2(X)0, North Summit is a prime competitor for not only Region but Slate as well. North Summit, having an incredibly young and talented team, is extremely excited to start off the season. Practice started on the 28th of February in the high school gym constricting the Braves to a small and limited place to improve abilities. After a week in the gymnasium, the weather soon permitted the team to practice on their field. The Biases are hxiking belter then they ever have lixikcd in ptescason. The team consists of: Seniors; Kevin Louder. Kirk Rchficld. and Brock Ryan DeJong. Juniors; er Blonquist, Daniel Rees, Robert Gcmpler. Kollin Garfield. Wilder Montero. Philipe Camargo, and Tyrell Mikesell. Sopliomores; Luke Berman, Jake Adkins. Cody Potter. Craig Louder. Ashley Lewis. Mitch Ivester. Heath Givens, and Jace Ovard. Freshmen; Andy Carlsen. Jason Kirkham, Jason Shullc. Jess Richins. and Rocky Pace. This season is a season of pnxif. not just pnxif to the community, but to the whole state; pnxif that the North Summit baseball team is a team that shouldn't be taken lightly, that the sport of baseball in a strictly football and basketball community, is a dominating sport. North Summit won't only be recognized as a powerful football team and quick hasket-ha- ll team, but also as a strong baseball bashing, ground bull digging hall club that should not be taken lightly. The club has many goals this season. To have a .5(X) record if not heller. to bring more fans to the game, to place at Slate, and to destroy their rival.
