More than 400 law enforcement agencies from the states of Colorado, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah and Wyoming will be joining agencies across the nation in this national mobilization. Last year 42,116 people lost their lives in motor vehicle crashes. more than 115 people every day or one person every 12 minutes. Nearly 60 percent of the vehicle occupants killed were not restrained. In fact, motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death for all people age 15 to 25 in the U.S. Wearing a seat belt could easily prevent many of these tragic deaths.
