The Tooele all So? yonur NEW MANUFACTURED HOMES mmm wholesale Eagle Scout project helps cemetery sign Boy Scout Troop 759 of Holladay, Utah, replaced the IOOF 12 Lodge sign in the Eureka City Cemetery earlier this summer. This effort was the basis for the Eagle Scout project of Ian Wright, son of Doug and D. Eureka Wright (and part-tim- e resident). The sign had deteriorated many years earlier and the IOOF site has been unmarked. A picture of the sign was obtained from June McNulty and Ian and the troop designed a new sign to resemble the original. Hopefully it will be more durable and attractive with raised lettering. Along with mounting the sign, the boys also reset the original poles and did some cleanup around the site under the guidance of scout leader, Fred Prater and Ians dad, Doug Wright. Dodging the enormous mormon crickets nude it all more of a challenge (which the boys found fascinating). The sign was cut and painted at the Wrights home in Salt Lake with troop assistance. Many members of the troop then traveled to Eureka for the overnight trip to install the sign. The group worked late into the evening the first day and then enjoyed a barbeque at Ians house in Fitchvillc. After that they had a guided tour of Eureka from Doug. The next morning, they finished the job at the cemetery. If you havent seen the new sign, check it out. It is located on the lower part of the original cemetery. Special tree meeting planned here Juab County Extension Agent, Jeff Banks; Turf and Water Specialist, Kelly Kopp; and Ornamental Tree Specialist, Larry Rupp will be at the Memorial Building on Monday, August 2(7 at 6 p.m. to assist residents with recommendations for trees, landscaping, etc for yards being cleaned up by the EPA. |
