Show Senior & November 21, 2003 1 FluPneumonia Mass Vaccination a Success The Free Flu and Pneumonia Mass Vaccination Clinic held on Nov. 12 was a success. Out of 5(J0 available flu vaccines, 470 were given in the course of three hours. 20 of the 50 pneumonia vaccines were also administered during that same time. The clinic was an exercise to test the health department's ability to conduct a mass vaccination clinic in response to a major disease outbreak, hioierrorism event or other public health emergency. "Overall, the exercise wjs a success. It showed us our strengths and weaknesses. and how well we could respond to an actual public health event," said Brent Ovard. Health Director.
