Show Entertainment Page A8 October 31, 2003 The Art of The Needle The South Summit Cemetery Maintenance District will he holding their budget hearing on Thursday, November 6, 2003 at the Kamas Services Building in Kamas. The hearing will begin at 7:00 p.m. The public is invited and encouraged to attend. Devoted entirely to charity, this is the nation's largest event of this nature. More than I, (XX) volunteer quillers have devoted their lime and effort over the past luo years to produce the 76 quilts up for auction. Bidding is couiictitic as these Ivuiiliful quilts typically sell for several thousand dollars, the record high being S2IS.OOO for a single quilt. l oi over two decades, the Holiday Quilt Show and Auction has helped fund the mission of The Deseret f oundation I'uicecds from the event, now in excess ol $I,(HX),(XX), have conliiluited to funhciing medical education and tcscuuh and impiovmg patient caie within our Okland, chair of the Holiday Quilt Show and Auction Board "The artistry and skill that goes into each of the quilts is outstanding, Each quill is the result of thousands of volunteer hours."
