Show WJ Page 4A September 25, 1998 , The Summit County Bee o Sheriff's BloWer A janitor at North Summit Middle School noticed aeveral lights had been broken. He reported damage to be $50 each for two of the lights and ' $180 to the other one. a to Damage post holding a mail box and the mail box itself was sustained in the Francis area. Officers responded to a call from a man who stated that he was driving up Weber Canyon Road near Oakley, he noticed a vehicle with fys lights flashing. He slowed to make a and heard a scraping noise. He reported that a crane had scraped the top of his car and dented it, and that he had made contact with the crane operator who told him he should have raised it higher. The owner of the vehicle proceeded to a friends house, not reporting the incident until later. Officers went to the scene but the crane was not there, so contact was tried to be made through the license number of the crane. Investigation is continuing. A woman reputed that her wallet wu left on die camera departmfnt counter at Wal-Mabut that she hadnt missed it until the following morning. An officer contacted a rt manager who stated that the Photo manager had found a wallet and placed it under the counter; A female had walked over to the department asking if her black day planner had been turned in. An employee told her no, but there had ben a wallet turned in. The female then asked to see it and claimed it wu hers. The employee then' u rn rt, WU-Ma- checked the drivers license and noticed it did not match the person. She then stated that it wu her grandmother's and took it. Owner of die lost wallet reputed that it contained $360.00 cash and various cards and papers. A cancellation wu put on her cards. A Layton hunting party repotted that they had left a traitor, made from the back of a Chev pickup truck, at a camp area near Lymaa Lake. Returning from hunting houts later; they discovered that someone had hooked onto the' trailer and taken it. Among items in the traitor were: a sleeping bag, binoculars; two radios, arrows, cortex hiking boots, chain saw, tool box, toather-ma- n tool, Magellon area locator; tut, clothing and cooler full of food. A call came into dispatch uying that a resident in the Silver Springs area had been awakened by a noise at a neighbors house. Looking outside it wu noticed that a moving van with Indiana plates and a gray Subaru were backed up to the garage and were removing furniture. Officers investigation showed that the female involved had problems with a roommate and wu moving out of stale. She had a letter from her attorney stating the objects could be removed. The officer then told them to keep the noise down, which they said they would do. A satellite dish receiver wu reported missing by the owner of a trailer home that wu being rented in die Samak area.
