Sept 29, it rained all day and a drought came to an end. The South Summit Football Team finally wpn Homecoming after a icven year hiatus. It was a perfect ending for the Homecoming week! The Gunnison Bulldogs came in search of their first Region win, and left knowing South Summit is far real. The Wildcats dominated on both sides of the ball. The defense, which has played great all year, set the tone with big hits from Brock Johnson and Jed Gines. The secondary was flying to the ball. Rich Goats had two interceptions and his brother Joe Goates added to the total with one. The offense finally got into the action, Doug Roberts scored on runs of 70 and 17 yards, Jeff Beer added a 40 yard field goal, and Joey Edmunds hooked up with Brett Siddoway on a 24 yard touchdown pass. Joe Goals and Josh Goodwin also ran the ball well. Overall, the biggest improvement was by the offensive line. Brent "Grandpa" Uie, Jeff Beer, Jason Haymore, Dan "Crazy" Marchant. and Brody Price man opened holes that a could have scored through. Those linemen certainly are golden!
