We met again Friday afternoon and let LaRita serve dinner to 24. We had a hamburger-noodl- e hot dish, carrots, rolls, watermelon and a delicious angel food cake dessert Friday's are real hard for LaRita because Denise is serving dinner in the evening too. We ask all seniors, on Friday to park on the west side of the street and leave the east side parking for her customers. Lyle Willoughby has solved his parking problems with his own new sports car that can come right up to the table if he so desires. Real neat huh? He even offered to give rides but I cant remember him saying the rides were free. President Delia Griffith informed us that she had been assured the building work would proceed on Sept. 2, and we do hope so. As vVm nun REEL1 94 S. It seemed like it had been a lot longer since we had than it really was. .Wednesday, 28 of us met at 'Denise's Home Plate cabana for a potluck dinner, and we had some very tasty food. The highlight of the evening was when Marie Warburton was totally surprised (she never suspected a thing). Her daughter, loan Lewis and husband LeGrande, arrived with a beautifully decorated birthday cake to honor her on her 89th. birthday. We wished her a "Happy Birthday" in song with Grant Geary leading and then enjoyed eating the cake with her. Thanks Joan and LeGrande. We made kind of a mess and since this was our first meeting, we didn't come prepared to clean up after ourselves but we knew if we left it too bad, we may be asked to go elsewhere. Some of our members weren't feeling up to par so couldn't be with us. Mary Mair had a bad reaction to some medication.' Emma Lemon had a cyst removed from her back, and June Toole had the gout. However, we are happy to say that June was feeling much better and came-ou- t on Friday and so did Eleanor Morby who is having treatments but looks pretty healthy - at least everyone is cheerful. Frank and June Toole left early to watch their grandson play ball in Park City and Woodrow and Leah Nielson was excused to attend their grandchild's game in Heber City. Wouldn't you say, we have some proud grandparents? Loraine Rock, Betty Wilde, Marjorie Smith, and Bonnie Calderwood had a pleasant trip touring some of the western states and gave us a good report on things they seen. Glad they had fun, glad they Ye back. If you read the article last week clear to the very end you must have noticed that the punch line was omitted to the story and it made no sense. The story was told by Brian Crane and was meant to convey the message of how we make it easy for the shysters to work their scams on us. The story goes like this: "Dear, what on earth are you doing with that accordion?" asks the wife. "Just serenading my crop," he ' replies. "They say playing the accordion to them will make them grow faster and they will be tastier than normal too." "Who on earth ever told you a thing like that?" she asks. "That fellow that sold me this here accordion." he answered. Hope we didn't confuse you. Have you noticed how colorful the flowers are this summer? Mine look good and I don't even have a green thumb like Jeanne Richins has. Jeanne is to be congratulated for winning the "Home of The Month of Henefer" award. She deserves it. Wonder if this is a new contest. See you ail next week.
