The project is under the direction of' Stan Dolinar. superintendent pipeline for Anchutz. Anchutz constructed the station in the event that an oil spill occurs from either a overturned oil tanker or the petroleum pipeline that crosses the river. The spill station was developed in an effort to contain a spill and mitigate environmental damage. The station, consisting of a building containing anchors, booms, oil absorbents, pails! tools and protective clothing, is located on land owned by JetrokfRichins. The station was placed nxt to the river for a strategic purpose Data was obtained by Anchutz on the rivers highest flows, and a rate of travel for a hypothetical oil spill was determined. By using the highest flow rate of the river this would Fiesta Days Parade Winners. provide the greatest distance the oil spill could travel downstream. This would allow time for a contracted Hazmat trained response team from Flare Construction in Coalville to get to the spill station. In the event of a spill, the team would respond and deploy the boom across the river preventing the petroleum from moving further downstream. This would buy the 50 minutes required for the Anchutz mobile response team to reach the site with the necessary equipment to contain and clean up the spill. The Anchutz Ranch East Pipeline Inc. has gone to this expense in an effort to protect the environment and to be a responsible neighbor to the land owners of Chalk Greek.
