To achieve this award, you have tc send in an application. The top ten wrestlers with the highest GPA and the most involvement in school activities are chosen. After they have All-Sta- te Rowland Hall, a private 1A school in Salt Lake City has just increased their studentbody to 200 students, moving them into 2A and placing them in our Region. Seth plays in the band at South Summit High, so as Seth has attended school he has had a real busy schedule and should be very proud of himself for receiving such a great award. Seth has attended South Summit High School since he was a freshman and will be graduating from South Summit this coming May. Seth has played basketball four years at South Summit. He also played basketball ever since he was a little boy. Seth was involved in Junior Jazz and really enjoyed playing with classmates. I asked Seth if there been a certain teacher or person who had helped him achieve this award and he said to me, Coach Hunt was a help because he really cared about school He really encouraged us to keep up our grades and try our hardest He not only pushed us hard in basketball, but also in doing good in school. Jake said, "The highlights in my basketball career were beating Morgan High School my Junior year, and beating (4A) Granite High School this Our Region Welcomes Rowland Hall St. Mark's High School for their great season on the Academic All State service. Jake Aplanap has recently been chosen that top ten, those young men are presented with a plaque at the state championships, which was held in Cedar City, at Southern Utah University. Only seniors can apply for this honor. When I asked Cameron how he felt about winning this award, he answered, It made me feel good. Cameron Maxfield is the son of Rod and Gayla Maxfield. He is a senior at South Summit High School and keeps a 3.7 GPA. This is very impressive because Cameron also is involved in wrestling, which involves practices after school and sometimes before. Not to mention the duels, tournaments, and losing weight that goes along with wrestling. Cameron began wrestling when he was eight years old. He started freestyle wrestling with Wasatch School District and has been very involved ever since. He has won three state championships, which is a great accomplishment. We would like to congratulate Cameron on his achievement. We would also like to wish him well in the future.
