Show 4A Th Summit County Boo Friday, Juno 1993 Tl, North Summit Senior Citizens President Jerry Burt and Eleanor Morby were on hand to greet us even though Eleanor was sporting a sling and avoiding the hugs. Takes a while for a shoulder injury to heal She and Esther Brown both fell on the same day; would you say it was planned? Esther is using a cane but is looking great It was nice to have Lorene Boyer back with us. Business meetings were conducted by President Burt with minutes read by Secretary Woodrow Nielson, and prayers given by Delia Griffith and Gen Geary. We had an update on our absent members with greetings being sent to them. Birthday greetings were sent to C.B. Copley and Alma Wells. Alma is in the rest home in Heber City and wants everyone to know how much our thoughts helped to brighten ha day. Betty Dahlin has had gall bladder surgery, home now and we hope will soon be better. Merrald Our new light fixtures are here. Sure will be nice on these old eyes to have good lights once mote. The coming events are: The band will entertain in Morgan on June 16, and they will welcome a cheery ing section. The trip to Black Hawk in on July 8, and our Bazaar is planned for Saturday, Oct. 2. Fawn Smith was visited by Beverly and Jean who report she is doing much better. Marvin and RaNae Robinson are having health problems. Lonnie reported on Wednesday that David Clark was badly in need of help. Friday, Jerry reported that Marcene Littlcdyke, supervisor of the Creekside Home Health Care, was taking care of that and he now has their help. We are really lucky to have these ladies in our community. Jerry asked fa volunteers to replace Amy Shaw on getting us good entertainment and on heading up the quilting department so Amy can be free to do a little more of her own things. We thank Amy for all she does. The culvert is in but we aren't a bit satisfied with the job that was done, and we hope it will nated. be corrected real soon. They were Grant Geary, Laura Roberts, Pat Anderson, Beulah Willoughby, Marr Hennek, Amy Shaw, Helen Judd, Lynn Anderson, Janice Longdorf, Delia Griffith, Helen Boyer, and Marie Warburton. We were especially happy to see Janice, a new band member, out there making music. If you don't believe me that they are the best, come give a listen for yourselves. Before sbhool was out, they enjoyed having three third grade classes from South Summit Elementary School come down to the cabin with their teachers, Carma Pitt, Tsmara Crittenden, and Kyle Hanson. Donna Miles showed many of the relics in the cabin and related them to pioneer life which is a good history lesson. She makes it real interesting as she had been an elementary school teacher for so many years. The cabin is located on foe spot where the fort wu built when the valley was first settled. This was for protection from foe Indians. The DUP has a miniature of this fort which was made by Alma Warr. .They have had other groups and clubs and family groups visit foe cabin. Anyone interested in doing this could contact foe DUP officers, Reva Fitzgerald, Thelma Wilde or Ivie Nielsen. The club really appreciates the Boy Scouts, Kamas II Ward, and their Scout leader, Kerry Lambert, who keep the lawn mowed, grass cut, and watered. They never have it is always to ask them to do it done! Thanks, Scouts! The meetings are held on the second Wednesday of foe month at 1:30 p.m. Any visitors are welcome to attend.
