Jeanette Vernon BPW held their regular meeting at the Coalville City Hall on April 7. It was arranged by committee members, Rose Wallace and Eliria Warburton, and conducted by President Louise Rees. Business matters were taken care of and assignments for the Senior Tea handed out. This event is under the leadership of Donna Keyes and will take place on May 17. BPW is pleased to sponsor this Tea to honor the graduating girls and their mothers. Members voted to again contribute to the worthwhile Graduation Project The highlights of the evening was hearing from BPW state officers, President Ellen Doran and Corresponding Secretary, Kathym Baldwin, and catching a little of their enthusiasm and hearing the applications read for awarding the annual career scholarship to me of the senior graduating girls. BPW thanks all of youjwho applied and wish you well in your future education goals. The, winner of this scholarship will be announced at a President Louise Rees, accompanied by Helen Blonquist and Gwen Larsen, attended a preparation meet-- The judges for the Young Career Program was selected by Donna Keyes and introduced by Helot Blonquist. These gals are really talented and Jeanette represented BPW so very well. Can't help but be proud of her. The Girl Scouts of Troop 259 had a winter survival course before all the snow melted. With the help of Lloyd Crittenden, snow was piled up and packed to make snow caves on the lawn of their leader, Donna Kunkel, then with the help of fathers, brothers, and anyone who wanted to help, dug out the caves. Kristi Simister, Deidra Kunkel, Michele Crittenden, Deena Willoughby, and Nicole Judd spent rare evening sleeping in the cave. They appreciated the help of Scoutmaster Boyd Robinson who is an old pro at the winter campouls. It has taken Margaret (Moore) Lester over two years of gathering information to complete her recently published hardback book on the history Hillary Ward called Rags to Riches. She donated all of her time to write this book. It is over 340 pages of very interesting and valuable information. Her parents, Veran and Mae Moore, have some of her book fra sale at their home.
