| Show commercial club Is organized t representative men of district bet met monday night and elected officers the commercial club an organization which promises to be come a very important factor in the future growth and development of the camps of the tintic gintic mining dis brict was formerly launched at a meeting held at the city hall on mon day evening at the preliminary meeting held last week committees were appointed and when the meet ingras ing was called to order on monday evening these committees were ready with their reports george A udall of the member ship committee made a report and stated that postal cards had been sent out to or more residents of the district asking them to attend the meeting and jo n the new tion it if the constitution and by law lann s met with their approval edward pile of the committee on constitution and by lda s then read the various articles of the cons titu tion the bylaws by laws not having been drawn up at that time george mccune of the r ommittee on organization reported the selection of the following officers to serve un til the first regular meet meeting irig in may 1908 james P driscall president S 3 schneiter vice president B N 0 stott secretary phil P dark clark treasurer 0 E B huish librarian Libi Lib anan larian C C griggs james crooks D D 1 banks danks and L 0 doty of eureka claude V heeler of silt er city and I 1 albert hagen and D A depue of mammoth fhe the president and secre tary are also ex officio members of the board of directors making nine directors in all the meetings of the club are to be held on the first and third moi daa da is e of each month commencing at 8 p r for forthe the present these meetings will be held in the city hall liall but later permanent quarters will be rented and furnished the bullion beck beek mercantile corn com pany submitted a proposition offering the club the second story of the new building which is to be erected on lower main street this building will be completed by the first of august and if the club decides to accept the offer of the above company the upper portion will vill be arranged to suit the requirements of such an organization the constitution leanes the selection of club rooms to the house houe hou e committee and action will probably be taken up on this question at an early date one of the duties of the president will be to appoint the following corn COM finance house commercial legislation membership local Affia Aff lairs irs mining railroad transports Tran tion agriculture and labor the question of membership fees and monthly dues came up for dis and it was foially decided that the charter members are to pay a fee of 5 00 after the charter closes at the first meeting in june this fee will be raised to 10 the monthly dues will be 1 00 per month the attendance at the meeting on monday was exceptionally large and it is thought that the club will start out with fully one hundred charter members the mem bersh p of the organization will not be confined to business men professional men and mining men everyone NV ft ho is interested in the ad van anc cement emeril of the gintic district being we welcome jc me the next meeting of the club will x ill be held 0 i monday mayeth may ath |
