Show 1 the junior prom no event in the tha social realm in a long time was handled quite so elaborately bora tely and successfully as the junior prom at the high school last friday evening the function was given in honor of the 15 class and at the same time it was the debut of the juniors who next year become seniors for the event the high school gym was transformed into a fairy land of 0 exquisite lights and shades which harmonized beautifully with the pie radiant faces and elegant costumes of the beautiful maidens and the manly young men who made up the company nothing in the decoration line ever even approached the picture presented at the gym last friday evening mr shirley horsley designed and supervised the scheme and its arrangement the colors being pink white and green nearly five thousand ros 1 es were made and used in the scheme I 1 which also included green leaves and lattice work crepe paper lattice I 1 work interwoven with roses and hangi I 1 ing baskets of the same flower covered one side of the hall the other side of the hall was roped oft off into six bis attractive refreshment booths under a canopy of green paper each booth was provided with a table and chairs and each was roped off with a chain of flowers one end of the hall was waa roped oft off for a rest bower and provided with leather couches placed under a canopy of roses and leaves and enclosed with chains of roses leaves and crepe paper even the basket ball baskets were utilized in the scheme and transformed tran stormed into mammoth flower baskets the lights were shaded with pink paper so that a soft light was diffused and the entire space above the heads of the dancers was filled with strings of roses running from each corner of the hall to the center where a large square cr crathon atlon of roses leaves and paper was suspended in each of the hung a flower basket complementing the decorative scheme were a number 01 0 oil paintings by mr horsley himself which W wore re placed on the wall in the rest bower aud and refreshment booths mr air horsley and the junior class received unstinted praise all during the evening tor for their work in decorating which was characterized the most unique and beautiful of anything ever chewn in this community about couples attended the ball the music was supplied by an enlarged orchestra and dancing programs were used the refreshments consisted of ice cream cake and other delicacies the officers of the class and those responsible tor for the affair are lamar kotord koford president barbara larsen vice president bessie morrison secretary and treasurer the committees were as follows refreshments lamar koford ara hunsaker rae knudson and hazel stohl decorations shirley horsley designer and advisor ara hunsaker Hun saher hazel stohl sylvia sylvi petersen vernon rhodes wilford J jensen ensen assisted by all members of the class cass reception irma knudson ray hay jensen rutus rufus jeppson and barbara larsen |
