The first person to the door got first choice of beautiful gifts and on down the line to the 28th. The Wasatch Tumbling Academy, coach, Stan Booth and the Northern Star Bounders, coach, Clegg, Dorothy Clegg, Becky Rees, Jackie Ball, Becky Sargent, Linda Geary, Mary Ann Banks, Lucile Ball, Colleen Brace, Darline Batt, Gen Geary, Cynthia Workman, JaNae Blonquist, Ethel Mc Kathy Carter held their first qualifying meet for State. Jerry and Phyllis Smith, of Coalville, is spending their Christinas holiday in Seattle, WA. Vaughn and Nclda Staples arc spending their holiday in Reno with Nclda's sister and family, Susan and Allen Crittenden. The family of Mr. and Mrs. Chancey France held their annual family Christmas Parly at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ernie Ramcro. Mrs. Elsie Peterson, of Wan-shihad special guests Dec. 22. Her daughter, Rhea Kiddman, of Brigham City, and her granddaughter and new baby of California, came to visit. Wayne and Jolcnc Christenson, of Hoytsvillc, had Christmas guests from Wyoming. The excitement was intense as Old St Nick entered the hall jingling his Christmas bells and taking his place as the center of attractions to hear each ones request and recite how good they had been. It was a Virginia, and his brother and family, Mr. and Mrs. Gene Christenson. After a dinner of soup and rolls, the Primary entertained with a program featuring Mike and Lynette Bosworth, of Upton, have a new baby boy. Mike's father. Dr. Wayne Bosworth delivered the little one. He weighed 2 ounces. The Utah Division of Parks and Recreation has ski tracks in three of its state parks. y ski A track has been set on the golf course at Wasatch Mountain State Park in Midway. The track is groomed every day, weather permitting, and is mostly on flat terrain. It provides excellent opportunity for both die novice and expert skier. Track fee is $3 per percross-countr- 27-ho- le son. The Utah Farm Leader of The Year award was given to Mr. Glen E. Brown at the Utah Farm Bureau Convention held at the Salt Lake Marriott on Thursday, Nov. 17. Two members of the North Summit FFA Chapter were able to present this award to Glen. Lance Moore, FFA President, read a citatum telling some of Glen's accomplishments, and then Mike Brown, FFA Treasurer, was honored to present the plague to his father. Glen has represented the County in the State House of Representa Brown and tives fra several years, where he has served as the Speaker of The House, Majority Leader, Majority Whip, and Chairman of the House Energy and Natural Resource Leader. This past year, Glen was selected by President Reagan to serve on a National Commission on Agriculture and Rural Development. The North Summit FFA would like to congratulate Glen and thank him fra his service to the community and especially the Future Farmers of America. , BPW Schedules January Meeting on Drug Awareness Center in Salt Lake City. Rockport State Park personnel are grooming a four mile crosscountry ski trail up Cotton Canyon and a two mile loop through Juniper and Cedar Point campgrounds. Fra those who enjoy watching and photographing wildlife, some 200 mule deer and several bald and golden eagles winter along the Cotton Canyon trail. A portion of the cross-countski trail is located on private property. Users should respect the landowners by packing out litter. Trail users should also refrain from carrying firearms, building fires or harassing wildlife and domestic cattle along the trail. ry Rockport State Park is located approximately 40 miles east of Salt Lake City on and three miles south of Wanship. The, trail and track are groomed as snow conditions permit The park is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. except for observed holidays on Jan. 1, New Year's; Jan. 18, Human Rights Day, and Feb. 15, Presidents Day. No fee is charged at Pioneer Trail during the winter. Restrooms and vending machines are available at the visitors' center. Pioneer Trail State Park is located at 2601 Avenue, Salt Lake City. The South Summit Elementary held their Christmas Program on Dec. 23. From the Kindergarten's reindeer hats to the other classes elves, Hawaiian dancers, and flute players, the kids did a great job of giving the audience the spirit of Christman it was a fun morning of children singing carols. The day didn't end with the program though, since this was the last day of school before Christmas, all the classes had their annual Christmas parties. School children in the Kamas Valley had their last day of school, until the new year, on Dec. 23. Big smiles were plastered on the kids faces as they pul school behind them for almost two weeks. These men and women endure all types of weather and get our children to school safely. Arvin's sister, Alda Anderson Davis, of Midway, passed away on Dec. 24 and her services were held Wednesday, Dec. 28 in Midway. The sons and daughters of Jesse and Ada May O'Driscoll held a Christmas dinner on Doc. 26, at the Kamas Kafc. They enjoyed a lot of wonderful memories mid great food, feasting on a roast beef dinner. In attendance were Pat and Agnes O'Driscoll of Overton, NV; Jay and Bethel Harris, of Oakley, and Bob and Jan O'Driscoll; Warren and Rosemary Atkinson and Ronald and Bessie Russell, of Kamas, unable to attend was Irma O'Driscoll of Kamas. Jay and Bethel Harris entertained their whole family on Dec. 24 at their home for a Christmas dinner and family party. Santa even came to attend. Ronald and Bessie Russell entertained their family at a gathering at their home on Christmas Eve. Also attending were Grandma Thelma and Aunt Marie McCormick. Because of the terrible snow-- , storm on Christmas Day, Rhodes Valley Ward had to cancel their meeting. The Kamas First and Second Wards held a combined Christmas Cantata. Narrator was Gary Mc- Cormick; organist was Joanne Marchant; violin accompanist, Connie Pill; soloists, Milo Lcflcr, Lewis Marchant, Lisa Leflcr, Susan Baker and Janet Baker.
