She is the daughter of Larry and Kathy Vernon of Coalville. Dcani received the Chemistry Merit Scholar Award after being nominated by her chemistry teacher, John Gilson. Outstanding high school chemistry students were nominated by their high school science instructors in Idaho, Wyoming and Idaho. The Missionary News awards were based on scholarship and general performance in chemistry and science. Dr. Bruce said banquet, R. Copeland, awards chairman and assistant professor of chemistry. Ryan has been given the Colle- giate Scholastic Award and has received a Junior College Honors at Entrance Scholarship at the University of Utah.
