VDated this 24th day of September, 1986. FIRST INTERSTATE BANK OF UTAH, N.A., TRUSTEE 2837 E. Highway 193, Layton, by VI Judge Blake Dear Vi: About four times a year, put your draperies, one at a time, in die clothes dryer set on the. air only or "cool cycle for about five minutes and they will seldom need to be dry cleaned. (First remove the pins, of course.) After ironing a linen or lace tablecloth that is used only for entertaining, I fold it lengthwise just wide enough to fit onto the pant bar of an ordinary coat hanger and slip a plastic garment bag from the dry cleaners over it. This takes very little room in a closet and the cloth remains free from unsightly wrinkles. DoraM. Idaho Falls, Idaho Dear Vi: Quite by accident, I hit onto this useful idea. Place freshly baked loaves of bread onto metal wire racks in such a way that, when cool, the indentations can serve as a guide to keep you from cutting uneven slices. We make a lot of fresh orange juice, so we save the orange peels and let them dry out until they are brittle. They make excellent kindling for starting fires in a wood burning stove because of the oil in the peels. Olive Hughes Las Vegas, Nevada Dear Vi: Plastic forks are nice for staking up house plants. Stick them in the soil with the tines up. Twist ties from plastic bags are handyjfor ties to hold the plant in place.y We cut a hole in the top of a gallon milk jug (handle intact for carrying) to use as a container for messy garbage. It stands up nicely in the garbage can or bag and doesnt leak. AND, theres always another jug empty that you can use to replace it. B. Heidman St George, Utah brine solution on them. (A pound of salt to a gallon of water.) BUT, dont let it get onto the lawn or anywhere you want plants to grow. Also, Ive found that baby oil wiped on the bathtub with a soft cloth keeps soap scum from forming a ring on its sides. A squirt of dishwashing detergent in the bath water also helps: With six of us taking daily baths, we do both Its a big help. Rhea Werner Evanston, Wyoming Dear Vi: If you make too much cereal, dont feed it to the garbage disposal. Refrigerate it in a covered container and heat it up the next day with a little milk, a dash of nutmeg and honey and some raisins or other dried fruit. No one will guess that it wasnt freshly cooked. Or slice and fry it in butter. Serve with syrup. Add an egg, well beaten, a cup of milk, sugar vanilla and nutmeg to taste per cup of leftover rice. (Some raisins, too, if desired.) Bake or steam until the egg is set and you have a delicious rice pudding. "Waste not, want not. Esther D. Pocatello, Idaho Dear Vi: I clip labels from the original jars and cans and tape them onto the plastic storage containers I use in the refrigerator. This way I can see at a glance what is in each container. We find that a thick wool cloth cleans lint, dust, hairs, powder, etc. from a collar better than a brush. This is especially helpful for polyester fabrics that tend to rough up with a brush. Ellen Hopkins Rexburg, Idaho IRS auditor to taxpayer:' "The trick is to stop thinking of it as your money.
