The Lynn Pierson Award is given in honor of Trooper Lynn Pierson who was killed in (he line Lady Braves Lasso The Longhorns August 29th was a special night for the North Summit Varsity Volleyball Team. Their first big win of the season. The Lady Braves were challenged by the Altamont Longhorns to a practice game. North Summit took the challenge and played Altamont on the Braves' home flflor. . The first game seemed close with good spikes and defense from the Braves, but to no avail. Even with the good serves by Merilee brooks and spikes from her twin Melanee. The Braves couldn't stop them and they lost of du tv. Trooper Marcellin will be honored on Sept. at the Spring Chicken Inn at Wanship. Social hour from p.m. There will be a' dinner al 7 to 8 p.m. Open House from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. The dinner will be a full course steak dinner, and the cost is $8.50 per person. Parents must accompany their children throughout the class period. However, while children arc involved in special activities, parents will simultaneously be involved in a special learning program. Topics to be discussed will include: dealing with sibling rivalry preparing children for a new baby Wasatch County Hospitals labor and delivery suite hospital policies and procedures nursery care tc The "Big Brother and Big Sister class is provided as a service of County Hospital. Swimming Pool Schedule The North Summit Swimming Pool schedule for the fall of 1985 will be as follows: public swimming Tuesday from 6 to 9 p.m., Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 3 to 8 p.m. Lap swimming will be on Mondays through Saturdays 7 from a.m. Groups are welcome to use the pool during public use times or they can make other arrangements by calling the pxl director, Dorothy Boyer at 336-273- 7 during pool 6-- hours. Pool admission prices are or over $1.00, children 11 or under $.75 and under 4 free. adults 12 A season pass may be purchased for August 27 to May 29 or May 31 to August 26 for a family $40.00, couple S25.00, single $20.00 or a child S12.50. Monthly passes are $6.00 for a family. $5.00 for a couple, $4.00 for a single and $3.00 for a child. The lap swimming pass is $5.00 per month. Fall swim classes for ladies water acrobids is $20.00 for 10 weeks. HeUo Dance Held at North Summit An evening of dancing under the stars was enjoyed by all who attended the Hello Dance last Friday. The dance was held outside, between the high school and the auto shop. As an added bonus the student lounge was open for the students to buy pop and candy. This was a welcome addition to the dance. This dance was sponsored by the student council. Music was provided by Rick and Melvin. Many students and alumni were present at this dance. Everyone who attended reported having a good time. See ya at the next dance. North Summit Plays Juab For First Game of the Year e After their pep talk, the Juab Wasps pulled ahead of the N.S. Braves to win the first game of the year. The. first quarter proved how hard both defensive teams had been working, because neither team scored. Both offenses really came alive during the second quarter. Juab passed 'the ball for their first touchdown of the game. North Summit was not far behind, as Cory McQueen ran in for their first and only touchdown. The second quarter ended with a score of seven to six, Juab. Third quarter action included interception by both teams and a Third touchdown by Juab. half-tim- . The right cars! The right prices! As soon as the fourth quarter started, Juab went into a stall. 6, North Summit tried to regain possession of the ball, but they couldn't get it back before Juab passed for the final touchdown of the game. The ending score was 20-- 6, Juab.- , The cheerleaders and drill team did a super job in promoting spirit for this game, and we look forward to watching them.
