| Show GRINNELL COLLEGE GLEE CLUB the appearance of oc the grinnell college elege glee club ot of grinnell Gr ianell iowa in it I 1 this city last friday evening was somewhat marred by the heavy snow storm which tied up the train and prevented tile the singers from arriving here until after ten to the everlasting credit of the audience be bd it stated however that the long wait was patiently endured and the situation was trade made the most of by lively colv conversation er s a and by the echo Male Quartette rendering a couple of numbers some of those who came early sat in fit the tabernacle for nearly three long hours waiting for the program to commence but not one of the number got discouraged and went home when the aln singers did arrive they made short work of getting on to the platform and be ba ginning the program the singers are not the finished ar I 1 fists that a professional organization ticia of 0 the kind would naturally be made I 1 ip of the members of the glee clib clab are students at the big college who have been endowed by nature with a good voice and under the hie tutelage of the director professor peck they have learned to sing together in fine shape in fact their ensemble work was excellent the program was arranged by ore one who knew what the people like to hear at a popular concert tor for each number was a gem in the second part songs of the southland ue tie glee club did especially fine work the numbers all being more or less familiar to the audience and could be appreciated prec precia ted all the more every number on the pr program was given and practically every numb ar was encored the singers responding gracefully to the demands of their bearers lear ers some of the encores were 10 of a character to be more than worthy a place on the regular program the concert was a musical feast and was thoroughly enjoyed by tile the big audience which attended it |
