By Betty Larsen Cole Thomas 9, son of Lee and Linda Thomas, formerly of Kamas and now living in Green River, Wyoming, had the thrill of a lifetime last month. Cole and his father decided to do a little fishing at Flaming Gorge, in the area of the Anvil Draw approximately 30 miles south of Green River. Fishing in itself is not unusual for the fellows in the Thomas family, what is was tiie catch of that day.' Cole was fishing a yellow jig on an eight pound test line off the bottom of the Gorge, at an approximate depth of 115 feet Lee told Cole it was about time to call it a day, after almost three hours of fishing. Cole started to reel in the line when he got a bite, a big bite. He was at a depth of about 80 feet It took 20 minutes or more to land the fish in the boat, Dad assisted Cede with the task. Both Lee and Cede thought they had a five or 10 pounder, but this Mackinaw tipped the scales at 27V4 pounds. He was mote than three feet long ' and a depth of 18 inches.
