Show " yyiii piiyii pt W XI ft ' P North Summit Braves The Summit County Bee Coalville, UT 84017 Friday, April 9, 1982 7A Braves Basketball Team Honored Tuesday, Mar. 31, the North Summit basketball team was honored with a dinner held at the Spring Chicken Inn. Those in 'Attendance numbered 58 players. cheerleaders, busdriver, wives and parents. After a very good meal was served a program was presented. The four senior boys on the Skinner for leading the team to the successful season they had and he thanked him for all he had done for them. He was given a plaque with all the names of the team members on it. Coach Skinner spoke for a few minutes. He told the team how proud he was of them and how nice it had been to work with a group of boys who lived by his set of rules and standards. Also he praised them for keeping the dress code he set of wearing suits and ties. He is excited about the them lots of support. Kraig Dearden gave a special thanks to the coaches wives, Nona Skinner and Deanna Pace and to Bernice Willoughby the bus drivers wife. The Braves finished the season with an over-al- l record of 26 wins and 11 loses. It was a great year. N orth Summit FFA Queens By Tracey Hughes The North Summit FFA Queen and Attendants for this year are Devini Richins, Queen; Lisa McMichael, First Attendant; Mariann Dawson, Second Attendant. Devini is a Junior at North Summit. Her parents are Mr. and Mrs. Jerrold Richins. Devini is a member of the Drill Team.' She - enjoys singing, dancing and playing the guitar. Lisa McMichael is a Junior at North Summit. Lisa is a Varsity Cheerleader. Her parents are Mr. and Mrs. Scott McMichael. She enjoys playing piano, singing and snow siding. Mariann Dawson is a Senior at North Summit. She is a member of the Drill Team. She i the daughter of 'Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Dawson. She enjoys snow skiing, singing and talking. North Summit Elementary School Program This years Festival of The Arts For The Young, will begin on April 23 withXbe x elementary school program. The theme for this years elementary program is Magic of All Spring With The Art?. students in the elementary school grades, Kindergarten through' Fourth, will participate in the program. For many weeks, the dedicated teachers of the North Summit Elementary School have been working with their charges in this special effort. The results are absolutely delightful. From the unhappy little chides in Kindergarten to the "square-dancers uTFourth Grade, each student is prepared to perform their part. is no charge for this program. All parents, district patrons and community members are encouraged to attend. There The elementary program, Magic of Spring with the arts will be Friday, April 23 at 7 p.m. t!'- - YY North Summit Band The North Summit Band has had a bit of a struggle this year with changing teachers, but finally we are on top of things. The Band competed in Region last month and took Second Place. The new music teacher is Ken Jones. Mr. Jones is from England. He has attended three colleges. .First McMaster University in 1 .- -r - - Ontario, Canada. Second, he has attended the University of Utah, where he received his bachelor and Master Degrees. He has also gone to Weber State College. He teaches both Jazz and Marching Sand. There will be a Band Festival on May 5, which will be held at Tinic. In conjunction with the annual A Festival of The Arts For The North Summit Music Department will present a Band Concert. The concert will be held Young, Thursday in the high school auditorium at 7 p.m. The community is encouraged to be in attendance and show these young people you support them in their efforts. A |
