IS. Entitled "Twas the Night Before Christmas." was written and directed by LuKeta Van Tassell. Music was expertly done by Colette Griffis and Jolene Moon. Wanda Prescott worked with the youngsters at practices. The talents of Afton Gmlepaswwas evident in the fine job done on the stage props and art work. A special musical number or song and guitar was performed by Put O' Driscoll. All the Primary children were involved and were happy to sec Santa arrive at (he end of the program. Many thanks to President Judy Mitchell, her counselors, and tiic others involved to make il all possible. Francis Ward Francis Ward held their The Dec. on 19, "Santa's program Toyland" was a huge success with Myra Housel. Primary President, overseeing the final outcome. She had plenty of help with Lola Lambert at the organ and Kathy Leavitt as chorister. Her counse- Rhodes Valley Ward held their pregram on Dec. 17. The theme for the program was "Teach The Chidlren." teach them the true meaning of Christmas, not what it, for the most part, stands for today. In charge of music for the evening, was Darlene Clegg and and lors. Melanie Fitzgerald Santa arrived in Coalville Saturday, Dec. 19. Several hundred area residents turned out to visit with him in the lobby of First Interstate Bank. After Santas visit, sponsored by the Coalville Lions, hundreds of dollars worth of prizes were given away in a drawing held in the parking lot. Only youngsters who had visited Santa were eligible for the drawing. Prizes were donated by North Summit area business people. Thanks to the Coalville Lions and Coalville businesses for this fun afternoon. Rhodes Valley Ward Stephanie Kirkham lent a big helping hand. Tim Gines was Priesthood Advisor for the event. Santa came to greet the kids and passed out a special treat for each and every one. Pcoa Ward Pcoa Ward held their Primary pregram on Dec. 7. In Peoa, they do something very special and unique. Each family is personally involved in the program. They either sing a special song, play piano or a musical instrument. read poems or perhaps do a dance. A few highlights of the evening were Irene Ruf singing "0 Holy Night." Lisa Richmond and Cheryl Anderson doing a reading of "The Night Before Christmas" and a very special Christmas story was recited from Chris Parkin. Narrators were Marilyn Lewis. Antione Powell, Mona Powell. Santa was played by Marvc Mitchell and the Mother was Peggy Swcna. Thanks to the Rhodes Valley Primary President Jackie Blazzard. her counselors. Connie Smith and Rhonda Mitchell. Secretary. Barbara Hardman and Bonie Mitchell, To the many teachers who worked so hard and diligently to make it all possible. And. of course, the children, who without them, the program wouldn't have been at all. They represented stars, candy canes, ornaments, bells, trees, lights, gifts, wreaths and angels. The evening was topped off with a visit from Santa Claus, getting orders for the big day. Kamas First Ward 1 , the Bible. All the youngsters performed and sang songs. Santa appeared on the scene and took orders for toys and gave the little ones a treat. Yummy refreshments were served and the evening was a huge 'success, with thanks to Primary President Ila Stcmbridge, Firsts Counselor, Dixie Marchant. 2nd Councclor, Trina Williams and Secretary. Susan Wright. Meriyn Johnson displays turkey for drawing. The Kamas First Ward held a .. "Christmas Party" with the children in singing segments playing mice, toy drummers, teddy bears, frosty the snowman, balls, dolls, reindeer. Santa Claus and a nativity scene. Dec. 17 turned out to he a big evening for Santa Claus when he came to the Green Hall to listen to special requests from each and every youngster and passed out a bag of goodies to brighten their night. Many thanks to all in charge to make the program very enjoyable and successful for one and all. Woodland Ward The Woodland Ward held their Christmas Partv and program on Hansen played the roles of mother and father. Barbara Raff was at the organ and Cheryl Woolstcnhulme wa$V; the chorister. Santa came and got. requests for toys and gave out-- ; bags of goodies to the youngsters'; Many thanks to the Oakleys Ward Primary and President Jant, : Thacker, First Counselor, Susan! Johnson, Second Counselor, Nora Sheffield and Secretary SaU'! Bergstrom. ; : , Dec. 21. A buffet dinner was served to the adults and special dishes were served to the children. Each Primary Class had a special number and performance. Earl and Billie Sue McNeil. Jody Miles and John Moon made up the quartet who sang songs. With a lot of success last year. Woodland Ward decided to have the horse and cart, full of kids, appear again this year. All the Primary children participated and Santa came to sec the litlc ones. The evening was a big success. Oakley Ward Oakley Ward held their Primary Christmas Program on Dec. 21. It was called the "Christmas Tradition" and it was written and directed by Mrs. Bryan (SusanJ' Johnson. The 120 Primary children had speaking, singing and dancing parts.
