Home Economics Gainful Class Helps Teachers at Elementary School Tyler Page getting tractor ready to clear field. South Summit Football the Journalism Class For the second year in a row the South Summit football team has played the East Carbon Vikings in home game. a state quarter-fina- l And for a second year this game .has been on the last Friday of October. Anthon Gines cleared the snow from the bleachers. We would like to thank these people for their help in keeping the game going despite the snowy weather. By snow. South Summit PTA The South Summit P.T.A. would like to remind everyone of the meeting that will be held at the South Summit High School cafeteria on Nov. 10, at 7:30 p.m. The group Tapestry will sing and light refreshments will be Dr. Bart Christensen, President of the South Summit P.T.A. announced the guest speaker will be Ronald D. Bingham, who will be speaking about disciplining children in the home and the classroom. All interested persons are cordially invited to attend. served. quarter-final- ,Vi - half-tim- The Home Economics Gainful Class under the direction of Mrs. Alene Bushell, started on Monday Oct. 26, going to the elementary school to help the teachers and the students there. Each member of the Home Economics Class go into different classrooms for about thirty minutes a day for three weeks. There are two to three students teacher aids to each room. The things the Home Economics Class do to help the teachers and the students are: Help students with their assignments such math, reading, writing, spelling, etc.; help the teachers with anything she wants done: students with flash cards. They put alot of time into it and did a great job. They practiced every morning at 7:00 a.m. They marched to a snappy tune that kept their blook flowing while they were out on the cold, frozen field. The cheerleaders advisor, Mrs. Bushell told a story about the Wildcats beating the East Carbon Vikings. The cheerleaders did appropriate cheers every couple of sentences. Summit Cats were more than ready for the East Carbon Vikings. The Wildcats played East Carbon for the State Quarter-Final- s for the second year in a row. The game started at 1:30 p.m., and was immediately off to a good start with a pass thrown to Wade Woolstenhulme for the first points of the game. Travis Hatch was the offensive player of the game with a total of two touchdowns for the Wildcats. Gordon Mondragon did an excellent job in racking up 13 yards and two touchdowns in the game. Jay McNeil recovered a blocked punt e in the for six more points for the green and white. Travis Hatch made a safety in the game which led to two more points.
