Brigham Young Universitys summer music camp for junior high and high school students provides an opportunity for music buffs throughout the West to young rub shoulders. Approximately 200 students each year arrive in Provo to receive in depth instruction in mu- sic theory and tech- niques, as well as performing experience. They come mostly from the western states, although some have hailed from the East or from other areas in the country. This years clinic is scheduled for June and is for students who will be entering grades 2 in the fell. It will be divided into two sessions, one for junior and one for senior high students. Junior high participants, students entering will meet grades 5-- 7-- 9, from June 0; and senior high participants, students entering grades 10-1will meet from 2, June 12-2- 4. guitar, conducting, marching band techniques, piano and all levels of theory. They learn about music from the Bach and Mozart era to todays jazz and rock. During each camp, students are formed into music groups including: small ensembles, choirs and an orchestra.
