Show ' School district handles problems Town talk At the February meeting of the Board of Education, Superintendent Rowse reported on a variety of school issues, including the Activity Fee Waiver Proposal. She recommended that the Board not take action on the fee waiver proposal at this time, since they had not received any feed back from parents regarding the proposal. The Board discussed many issues pertaining to implementing the fee waiver proposal, and then agreed that they would continue to look at all aspects of the issue and wait until they do receive input from parents before making any decisions. Regarding the School Nurse Update, the superintendent reported that Tintic School District will continue to receive a flat funding amount to help support the school nurse program. Community Education Classes are being offered again starting in March. The classes will be monitored and class rolls will be required. Guidelines for running each class will need to be followed and complied with by the individual instructors. Superintendent asked a member of the local Board for a report on the meetings with the Sevier Valley Applied Technology Board which governs the ATC in Richfield. The Board member explained the Sevier Valley Board has met several times to review and discuss the proposals of House Bill 114 which is now before the State Legislature. This House Bill proposes turning the Applied Technology Cewnter in Richfield over to Snow College. One reason for this proposal is that credits from the Applied Technology Center do not transfer to other colleges or New county clerkappointed in the State.
