Marilyn 19 Local fires contained, firefighters leave area The 40.837 Little Sahara Fire Complex is contained, and BLM fire officials say that the last of the 600 firefighters assigned to the fire would be out of the OHV area in time to open to visitors 8 a. mm.. Friday. July 5th. contingent upon no more fire activity in the area. "Firefighters will he leaving the Little Sahara area Thursday night." said Ferris Clegg. BLM Outdoor Recreation Planner. He advised visitors to call ahead Friday morning in case of further fire activity in the area. "No water is available at the Sand Mountain camping area because we arc installing a replacement water line in that area. said Clegg. However, all other Little Sahara water lines are working." Clegg added that fire restrictions arc still in effect and no fireworks arc allowed in the Little Sahara area. The fire restriction order includes all state, private. National Forest, Bureau of Lind Management, and National Park Service lands with Beaver, Juab. Millard. Piute Sanpete, Sevier. Tooele, Utah, and Wayne counties and remains in effect until rescinded. The order prohibits: 1. Open fires of any kind. Campfires in facilities provided for them in designated campground and picnic areas are allowed. 2. Smoking, except in vehicles. boats, developed recreation sites, residences, or in an area at least 3 feet in diameter that is barren or cleared of all flammable materials. 3. Fireworks, tracer ammunition, or other pyrotechnic devices.
