Tintic Silver Fest events set for Friday, August 1 8 The events scheduled for the Friday, August 18, part of the 95 Tintic Silver Festival are much the same as the past several years, and include the fun activities that follow: The Elks arc sponsoring their annual golf tournament for memmember-sponsore- d bers and participants. More information is available through Troy Jones, The golfing date will be followed by a steak fry and a dance "Excalibrc," featuring ..also for members and guests. Local businesses will be open and welcoming festival visitors. The T.N.T Mountain Men Club will begin setting up in a section of Tintrcka Park, starting around noon. Its quite a treat to 433-668- 2. watch the teepees being raised and camp set up.. a real taste of the day of the mountain man and trapper.. and quite a lesson in history. Everyone is welcome to observe and visit with the members. Arrangements have been made this year to leave the front part of the park vacant for families who want to use the park for picnics, etc. The committee feels the mountain men arc a unique part of the festival and hope townspeople and visitors alike will take in the activities planned for the T.S.F. The Seventh Annual Silver City Reunion will be held at Silver City. Registration will take place upon arrival. There will be a program at noon, again featuring live music and talent from whomever is interested in performing. A potluck dinner is planned for 2:00 p.m. An auction will be held agian this year to put funds into the kitty to keep the Reunion going. All former residents of Silver City and their old friends who once tred the streets with them, arc invited to renew old friendships or make new ones. Everyone is encouraged to bring their own chair, and camp if you like, (keeping in mind the primitive conditions in an old ghost town.) All these arc events for Friday, August 18.
