Alton was born May 25, 1904 in Cooper, Texas to Gustavus Adolph and Minnie Bell Davis Baker. He was educated in Amarillo, Texas schools and Electrical Engineering School in San Francisco, California. He served in the U.S. Army as a young man. He married Lula Elizabeth Hillman in Clovis, New Mexico in June, 1929. Alton and his wife lived in Pasadena, California for a number of years and moved to Ogden in 1969. He was a 32nd degree member Scottish Rite ot Freemasonry, Past Master of Tintic Lodge F.& Eureka, Utah; Past Patron Tintic Chapter 018; a member ot Trin,ty Wh,te Shrine of Jerusalem; a member of Eureka Community Methodist Church and a fify year member of Electrical Workers.
