Jones leads THS to victory Board to review building The Tintic miners placed sixth in the Tournament last Saturday class morning, losing to a fired up team from Kanab 69 to 91. The miners looked brilliant at times, but just couldnt contain the shooting of the Glover brothers and Wade Coleman during the game which made the difference in the hard fought contest. However, Richard Dorigatti pumped in 23 points for the Miners to garner 1-- The monthly meeting of Tintic Board of Education is scheduled to be held March 24, at 6:30 p.m., in the Board Room. Included in matters to be discussed is a report on the building programs for Tintic High School and the West Desert School. Phase I construction will be started around April 1. Fred Holladay will give a report on 4 the Districts Testing Program. Summer programs being scheduled are swimming, reading, construction, music and CETA workstudy. A tentative calendar for the 1980-8school year will be discussed. Superintendent Openshaw will report on the following matters: a. Application for necessarily existent small schools and meeting with State Superintendent b. Pricing of school lunches and 1 team, good solid coaching and a place in the tourney which has been long A second high scoring honors with 23 points with high honors going to Gary Glover, who put in 26 points during the 32 minute contest Doug wall looked good as he came alive during the second half, putting in 13 points adding to the two he laid in during the first half for a total of 15 points. Daren Yaden got 15 points, Troy Jones, 12 and Lee Gourley got 7. However the Cowboys were just too fast and tag for the Miners and in the end prevailed by the lopsided score. In reflecting over the complete tourney, the miners can be proud of the all-oeffort which showed a great ut coming over the years. . Troy Jones, with a tremendous scoring effort of 22 points, lead all scoring in the Miners victory over Monticello Friday afternoon in the state basketball second round of the tournament. The Miners, playing better defense, held theBuckaroos toa total of 43 points while scoring 52 of their own, which was the final score in the contest. In the first quarter of the game, Monticello jumped off to a 0 lead, but the Miners quickly bounced back and were never behind again in the contest. Half-tim- e 5 score was for the miners and the lead got to 14 points early in the 4th period. Turnovers plagued the Miners from time to time in the game, but cold shooting on the part of the Bucks proved to be their downfall as they couldnt seem to buy a basket at times. Scoring for the Miners showed Yadon with 8, Wall with 7, Laird with 1, 1-- A 2-- 26-1- i , Dorigatti with 10, Jones with 22 and Garbet with two. Scoring for the Bucks showed Yazzie with 6, Freestone with 4, Ketron with 12, Mac Cawley with 2, Jensen with 9, and the other Jensen no. 42, with 10. Ambulance crew attends seminar Members of the West Juab Ambulance Association attended a special seminar Monday and Tuesday nights of the past two weeks, held at the high school film room. Leon Winters, director of Civil Defense for Juab County, discussed the Handling of Dangerous Cargo. Mem- bers of Eureka Fire Department also attended the discussions.
