The building, built in thr I92U' in Eureka, and moved to SUver City in the 1950s, will be moved back this month, for use as a museum and display center. The Juab County Fair has been set for Thursday and Friday, August 23 and 1 24 . It was noted that on July 20th, five of the E.M.T.'s and their spouses attended a steak fry in Nephi, sponsored by East Juab Ambulance Association. An enjoyable time was had by all attending. Janice Boswell has been elected to the position of assistant training officer. Members present at the meeting were Stormy Allinson, Adele Allinson, M.undi Pedersen, Iris Swenson, Kathy Sparrow and Carole Ann Castleton. the summer months working with a Youth Conservation Corps group at Camp Gooseberry near Richfield. She was accompanied on the return trip to the camp, by her parents, sisters, brother and Lee Gourley. All this month, this was music to our ears." The board of directors and officers of the society, at a meeting last week, decided to have another depot Day this year, similar to last year's fund raiser. The date set is September 23. The money raised will be used toward paying back the county loan. Support from the townspeople is again essential. Without the fine support from everyone, this dream could never have been fulfilled. The society feels this building will be a great asset to the community and a benefit to everyone. Please continue your support. Accident injures Eureka youth A motorcycle-automobil- e accident at the intersection of Arlington and Udall Streets in Eureka resulted in painful injuries to a local teenager, Brent Hatfield, 14. Brent is a brother to Marsha Tilby. Driver of the automobile was John Castleton. Investigating officer was Eureka City Marshal Joe Bernini. The injured youth was transported to Mountain View Hospital in Payson in the Eureka ambulance, attended by several West Juab E.M.T.s. He suffered a leg fracture and a head laceration requiring several stitches. The boy is reported to be in good condition but will remain in the hospital in traction until the fractured leg heals. . President Ned Allinson conducted the Monday evening meeting of West Juab Ambulance Association, held in the Memorial Building. Brackenbury spent four days home last week. Debbie is spending at Nephi. The Juab County Fair Queen Contest is scheduled for Saturday, August 8, at 8 pm. in the elementary school auditorium in Nephi. Qualifications are: she must be a resident of Juab County for six months; she must be 17 to 27 years of age and building. unmarried; she can compete whether News came from Paul Valgaardson, she has been a queen or attendant of the mover, that the move will be made any other city or county event or attendant to Miss Juab, in previous contests. The winner will receive $100 and will rsts: reign over the Juab County Fair activities. She will also compete with other county queens for the title of Miss Utah State Fair in September. So far, so good. Eureka still had a perfect record. It was a different story on Monday, however, when they played the Orem National No. 1 Team and lost 10 to 5. This was their First game in the state tournament. The next day Eureka bounced back and won their game against the Orem Cubs, 5 to 2. Tournament play ended for Eureka on the third day when they were defeated by Ephraim 10 to 6. On Thursday, Friday and Saturday of this week, the team will participate in the Santaquin Tournament; taking on a There is much excitement among the members of the Tintic Historical Society. They are just about to realize the fulfillment of a two year impossible dream." The moving of the old Union Pacific Depot back to Eureka is scheduled for August 23. When the society was contacted by Filtrol Corp. in 1977, with the possibility of owning the old depot, but moving it as a stipulation,' there was much skepticism . . . even within the governing board. No way could the money ever be raised to move the building, and where could it be put if it were moved?? The historical society is it a organization, and the funds on hand were only membership dues. Those who were skeptical seemed justified. The excellent condition of this historic old depot spurred the dream on, and with diligent perserverance and outstanding support of those who believed in dreams, the property was found, and donated to the society by Arthur H. Nielsen. Donations came in from interested persons and firms across the country, and great support was given by the townspeople, to our fund raising depot day" last year. These funds were still not enough, but last fall, a large loan came from Juab County. The long hard winter stopped work on work the depot site after the back-ho- e was done, but with the coming of spring, the work began again, and now the foundation is waiting for the 6817.
