Add flour and salt. Knead on a floured board. Dough will be sticky. Let rest for 10 minutes ‘covered with a towel. Melt 1 cube butter and pour onto cookie sheet. Roll dough on floured board to approximate size of the cookie sheet (for instance, 10x16 for a 12-1/2x17 pan with sides). Cut into 1” strips with a pizza cutter and dip both flat sides in the melted butter on the cookie sheet. Sprinkle sticks with garlic salt, parmesan cheese and parsley over all the strips. Raise for 1-1/2 hours (or put in oven as it preheats for 5 minutes, then take out, cover with a towel and ‘let raise, about 20 minutes) until doubled in size. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. Makes about 14 - 1” strips. Green Tomato Raspberry Jell-O Jam “This is a slightly tart jam but very delicious.” 5 5 Y4 1 cups green tomatoes, oe (keep the juice) cups sugar cup lemon juice large package raspberry Jell-O Boil tomatoes and sugar together for 45 minutes. Add lemon juice and Jell-O and cook for 25 minutes. Pour into sterilized jars and seal with lids and rings. Makes 8 - 8 ounce jars. Surprise Pudding “This is a yummy easy recipe. It is like a steamed pudding with a delicious sauce underneath. That's the surprise of this dessert.” 8298_j26 CR) NEIGHBORHOODS Pudding: 1 Tablespoon butter Ye cup sugar Ye cup milk 1 teaspoon vanilla 1 cup flour Y2 teaspoon soda ¥% teaspoon nutmeg Pinch of salt Y% cup nuts Cream together the butter and sugar. Add milk, vanilla, flour, soda, nutmeg, salt, and nuts. Pour into 1-1/4 quart greased casserole dish. Sauce: 1 cup brown sugar 2Tablespoons butter 2 cups boiling water Pour over top of pudding and bake at 375 degrees for 30 minutes. Serve warm for best flavor. |
