In my few moments. of opportunity to talk to her while we were runnin Debbie shared several enlightening things with me. First of all, her love of running was completely contagious. I found myself loving running even though every muscle in my legs hurt and my lungs were burning as I tried to keep up with her so that I could ask her my questions. Suddenly, I wasn't just training for a marathon, I was becoming part of a running community, where my aches/pains/highs/lows were already understood. Second of all, she had some great advice for runners, a little etiquette for the road. Zockoll said, “I wish that people would just say ‘hi’ to each other when they are out on the road running. There is nothing wrong with being nice’ She's right. Even though running 20 miles seemed to make even drinking water feel difficult, I gave her advice a try. I’m sort of jealous, it would be nice to have the ee ea Happy running!” I can't: even n believe that Debbie Zockoll would want to be in my “New Runner” shoes, but it was awesome to know that one marathon . or 31 marathons, every runner has a connection to other runners. That is what makes the St. George Marathon such a popular event. People come from all over the world to do the same thing, compete in a race, a really long race. The same was true against Western New Mexico. There are no assurances this week will be any different for the Dixie State outside linebacker. But you won't see Timo rant and rave about it. He knows the alternative. “I tell you what; said Timo breaking into a big smile, “this heat is a lot better than Iraq heat. It’s good to be back in America.
