People give or donate what they can. Not everybody has bikes or toys to give. Some have clothes, jackets, and shoes. Or if they choose to, its money. What I want to know is what is her definition ofa gift? Is it bikes and toys or something that was bought because they thoughtthat it was needed or only had a little amount of money left so they bought what they could with it? The donated gifts items in the store are set up for display by American Legion Auxiliary volunteers. The items do not cost the veterans thy are able to choose what they want for their families. Locally, members of American donations to be sent to the VA Hoe- pital to ease the financial burden for veterans at Christmas, said auxiliary member Beverly Hansen. Auxiliary Unit 64 members have helped gather donations for the program for the past five years. Community members have generously donated brand new items in the past, and this year it ia hoped the tradition will continue, but the Nov. 19 deadline for donations ia coming quickly, she reminds.
