Duchesne is the baseball king of the Uintah Basin as they beat Vernal and Roosevelt teams in tournament play, which hasnt happened for a long time. Duchesne'sZackBertola scored in the fifth inning to tie up the contest and then Roosevelt had a at chance to win it all in the first inning of extra play in the bottom of the seventh. Brian Hales singled and moved to second base after he tagged up on a fly ball hit by Brady Arnold. A pass ball advanced Hales to third base, and with two outs Roosevelt was a hit away from victory. Levi Sursa did his best Sammy Sosa imitation by belting a high fly ball into right field. Hales was standing on home plate and watched the Duchesne outfielder stick out his glove for the catch that wiped out Roosevelts winning hopes. Now it was Duchesne's turn for glory and they didnt disappoint their fans with Reilley showing off Babe Ruth form with his home run blast that put his team up by one at When I went to the piate I thought Dont strike out'.
